First touring car: Original RS4 - Never raced that one
First RC car, Tamiya Frog, mid 80's. I put that through tons of beatings, and it survived them all. I put an old Nova body on it with street tires, but that doesn't make it a touring car.
My first racing was back in 1991 when I raced "Gearbox modified" class with my Losi JR-X2. I did a homemade oval conversion and managed to come in 1st or 2nd nearly every week that summer. Not hard when there were maybe 5 or 6 racers tops in that class. One day we raced Clod Busters WITH some gearbox stocks. It was a free-for-all and I was crushing those little things every time they tried to pass me (if I could catch them). Local racing died after that summer.
I got back into racing back in 1998 with a Tamiya TA03 David Jun edition. Then I raced once or twice in the Tamiya mini class (did a local TCS race).
My cars over time:
Tamiya Clod Buster (man I wish I never got rid of that truck)
Bolink '91 Sport (still have that sitting in a corner)
Tamiya TA03 David Jun edition
HPI RS4 Mini Pro
Tamiya Mini Cooper (M-03)
Yokomo YR4-M2 USA
HPI Nitro RS4-2
HPI Micro RS4 (I have about 4 of them right now)
I'm thinking of racing the Micro RS4 class at a new indoor track nearby.
