Hey Barry, nice to see you here!

I saw your interview on Rochester R/C...good stuff, but how can you say you never rode an elephant before...I've seen pics of some of your ex-girl friends!

...rode some elephants ...We enjoyed it, but it is the most uncomfortable ride you will ever have in your entire life for the first 2 minutes, then you get use to it. My back was like, there is no way I am going to be able to get off this elephant, then all of a sudden you start weaving with it and rolling your body with the motion it isn’t so bad.
Later Big Boy, I'll see you at the birds!

Mike / Barry

I was looking at your setup on the Associated web page from Cleveland and noticed your running a "non-standard" setup on the ackerman adjustment (I believe it says silver ball studs with a .080 spacer), just wondering what effect this had on handling.

Thanks

Hi barry,

i hope you don't mind, but my question refers to the NTC3... i'm running nitro again, but still mostly electric...

...about the camber link position on the rear shock towers... what does the optional mounting do? (outside position) as stated in the manual, its suppose to "add rear traction"? but what exactly does it add? forward traction? on power or off-power? or side bite?

how about for the front? does the same thing apply?

thanks in advance. - jason

Default 12th Scale

I was looking at the picture of your 12L3 at the end of your interview and noticed that you lay your servo down.

Is it just servo taped down or do you secure it someway?

What is the advantage of laying it down as compared to the directions and setting it at an angle?

Also what servo do you use?

Thanks in advance!

JSJ Racing - Barry will chime in if there is additional info but laying down you servo on any car with the AE 1/12th suspension will give you bump toe in, alter your ackerman angles and lower your cars center of gravity. All of this give you more turn in and mid corner steering. If you want to reduce/eliminate bump toe in add one or 2 washers under your pivot balls on the spindles.

I Shoe-Goo my servo on my 12L3 (I think this is how everyone does it)...servo tape is thicker and not as secure. The nice thing about Goo is that its not permanent. Give the servo a twist and it will come off but it will never come off in racing. Check the alignment of the servo repeatedly during drying so it dosent end up crooked. I use masking tape to hold it in place while it dries.
