Nahh, my dream job is being a bikini inspector Yeah it would be cool to race rc for a living but i would get pi$$ed off with all the travelling, lack of sleep, n00bs asking questions, not performing as well as i would like etc.

Sure, we all know Darrin's exploits, first with the seminal COX BANDITO, and then with the well known TURBO SCORPION. Of course Revtech kicked in some wicked 18 doubles, but Darrin could feather it so as not to dump.

But the real question is, why did you glue those tires? They were rock hard....

Maybe a few sponsored guys or other insiders could just give a range of salaries.
And then we can have peace with it.

Josh Cyrul, Barry Baker or Buritto.
(all regular visitors here)
Maybe you guys can just give an estmate!?

I really don't think any of them except maybe one or 2 make the money you mentioned.Sorry bro.I have known some of the best and I don't remeber when they were jumping for joy over thier paycheck.A friend who had a full factory ride, travel, and salary was talking to me about his sponsorship. After telling me how much he made,I know why he was a little unhappy.By the way He used to drive for tamiya,so the whole Tamiya has a ton of loot to through at sponsored drivers is wrong. They have only taken thier race program seriously over the last couplke years, especially after the worlds.
Most of the r/c companies are in buisness for one thing.Ask Ernie what that may be.

Racing is supposed to be fun, first and foremost. If you are a full factory guy then it becomes a JOB! Now how much fun do you have at your job now. Some lucky people get to do exactly what they always wanted to do but many do not. Dont most people race to get away from the stresses of their jobs and every day life in general. If racing was your job then what are you going to do to get away from the stresses of racing for a career?
