Default Please help! GTB setting problem!

1. with receiver plug plugged, when i turn the gtb on it shows BLUE, AMBER, RED (transmitter off)

2. with receiver plug unplugged, when i turn the gtb on it shows RED & GREEN

in both cases, thereafter no matter how long i press the setup buttom it just wont let me go into setup mode

p.s. i am sure the the setup buttom is physically working

and also,

what setup i need to have both good drag brake and low rpm?

1.) Blue, Amber, and Red LEDs should be on at neutral. The Red LED denotes that you are at neutral and blue and the amber denotes that drag brake is active (it is on by default)

2.) Red and Green LEDs on means that the ESC isn't getting any signal, again which is normal for not having the reciever plug installed.

Are you referring to the one touch setup mode or the profile adjustments?

If you are trying to preform the one touch setup the button needs to be depressed and held down while you turn the switch on to the ESC.

If you get zero response from the button double check that the harness is plugged in correctly to the ESC. If it still doesn't work there might be a problem with the switch itself that you cannot see.

i was refering to the "way" that you individual set the drag brake, min drive etc.

and if that is one touch setup mode, what do i do after switching on the gtb with setup bottom depressed and held?

After the ESC is on, you access the individual parameters by pressing and holding the button down until the LED sequence corrosponding to the paramater you want to edit comes up

Blue - minimum brake
Blue and Amber - Drag Brake
Blue and Green - Dead Band
Amber - minimum drive
green - drive frequency (brushed mode only)

All of this information is in the instruction manual:

it's ok since i can still tune things through my transmitter.

During the life span of this GTB i have seen 3 other esc of similar age brunt out. Given that i am a very intensive user i would classify my problem as normal wear and tear.

You stated in your first post that you tried to go into the part where you adjust min brk, drag brk etc, with the Tx off, I know on my GTB the Tx must be on to access the adjustments.

You can make those adjustments with your TX on or off. If it's off, you just need to unplug the SC from the receiver. It's in the link that Steve posted.
