GTB Speed Spectrum ESC

GTB Speed Spectrum ESC
Any word on when the new GTB Speed Spectrum ESC (model#1711) is going to be available (Teamnovak)? I noticed that Novak's soon-to-be-released XBR Sport Brushed/Brushless ESC has built-in Li-Po Cut-Off circuitry. Will this feature be included in the new GTB also?
Thanks, Pete

The Spread Spectrum versions of the GTB started shipping to distributors last week--both of these GTBs include the new built-in, lipo cut-off circuitry.
Novak will be announcing updates to the original GTB later in April.

Are you talking about retrofits, or updates on new "non SS" versions of the GTB?

They are fixed 6.25 volts.
I think N2 means offering upgrades from the orignal GTB to the New GTB if so desired.
Thanks

I can validate that. I just discharged a LiPo last nihgt on my carbon, watching the voltage the whole time. From 8.4 to 6.8 takes about 2-3 hours with a 1 amp discharge, but from 6.8 to 6.0 took less than 15 minutes. The voltage does drop rapidly as it nears the 6.0 volt mark. Besides, at 6.25 volts the car isn't worth driving anyway IMHO

What exactly is the advantage of having a circuit be so noisey that it will not work with crystal radios?
Will it effect the radios in other cars near by?

Read it. Still not convinced that generating RF is a good thing or required to achieve performance. Yes switching fast can reduce heat, but good fets switch plenty fast without generating RF if done right. It is not as simple as fast=RF. It is a combination of things that cause it and it can always be filtered out with a little money and effort.
Novak should be embarrassed that they could not keep their unit from thermal shutdown without generating so much Rf that a crystal radio does not work well, and then telling us that this is a neat new feature.
Sorry, but we put up with so much bull in marketing and I am simply disappointed and insulted by this promo angle. I have always liked Novak products but this is not good engineering.

I was being sarcastic by saying that your esc will interfere with the other cars, there isn't really a performance advantage.
