If either of the companies in this thread are using a shunt type device to measure current... you numbers could be off by atleast +/- 1%. I believe the GFX using a resistor to measure current (2*0.002 ohm in parallel or something like that) so it is probably even less accurate than a true shunt. So, any argument that is based on numbers that are closer together than about 1 to 2% is just plain silly.
If you really want to measure current you need to use either a hall device (LEM) or a true DCCT (Danfysik). The burden resistors for these will need to be very good as well.

Some real world results from your average club racer. I intentially made no changes to my car or prep to see if the battery made a difference.
The TP cells helped me shave 2/10s of my fast lap. 2 seconds off my qualifier (could have been a bit more). and 6 seconds off my overall time in the main. Same track, similar conditions. Same set up.
That was compared to a fresh 25c Trakpower 4900.
FYI: The TP is 20 grams heavier, but, in my opinion, worth it.

I ran these packs for the first time this past weekend as well. They seem to be just as good as the other top of the line lipos when running them at room temp. I had no issue with drop off or lack of power. Time will tell how they hold up, but i believe they should be fine. One thing to note is it seems the TP responds a bit better to heating then my prior packs did.

I did some testing this weekend with the 40C 5000 pack and all I can say is WOW! I was run in touring MOD with lots of motor and I could definatly feel the extra get up and go with the new 40C packs compared to other brands as well as other thunder power packs I have tested over time.
GREAT JOB THUNDER POWER. Cant wait to test these in the SPEC classes to see how much I gain.

Do the cells in these 40C packs have any kind of mechanism to protect against dead shorts? Perhaps something like the Kokam cells, where one of the tabs acts like a fuse?

I have to agree with Mike and Kyle here.
I, too, got to run the 40C pack this weekend at the ROAR Regionals at 360 Raceway. The pack performed great and definitely felt like it had more punch than some of the other lipos I've tried. I let a friend of mine, Ronnie G, try it in 1 round of 17.5 Foam TC and he came off the track after his run with a smile.
Definitely a great job by Thunder Power!
