Default In 2009 ROAR goes to 6 Minute electric races

So what does everyone think of ROAR going to 6 minute races in 2009?

Will any of the bigger races follow....like Novak, Snowbirds, REEDY or IIC???

The ROAR Nats should be 6 minutes this year.

I think it should be fun I wouldn't mind seeing longer mains in some classes. But this is a nice step in the right direction.

Nice. We have the run time, and it will add minimal time to club racing. Larger events will have to plan accordingly, but shouldn't have too much impact to the day. Most of the time wasted is getting people to the line and marshals out to the track.

ROAR goes to 6 minute quals and mains in electric racing in 2009. (except 8th electric which is max 7 min quals and 10 min mains.)

Statement of fact.

I assume that 1/12 scale is still 8 minutes?

Was this on the ballot for all ROAR Members to vote on? I remember back in the day that members were asked to vote on going 4 minutes to 5 minute racing. Just curious as to how this change was handled?

The change was handled with the class committees (on road and off road) making the recommendation. For efficiency purposes, this was decided upon to support the proposal at the Excom meeting.

Nothing says club races have to follow this. 6 mins is the max and will be applied at national events. All rules apply to nationals and local tracks have the opportunity to alter as their program allows.

Default sweet

I like this.
how many times have you needed an extra 2-3-4 laps to run someone down now with the extra time you might be able to.
we all can run 6 mins. these days with lipo and brushless being so efficient
i would also like to see the weight requirement reduced. less weight and the cars are more durable.
