I have a Hudy AC that works great, what issues are you talking about?

I meant issues with truers other than Hudy. I didn't know they made an ac model I have only seen the dc. I have seen the ofna and it works very well along with the maxmod. I think the cobra models suck I had one and sold it to make room for my Hudy that is on order.........

I have the Cobra AC truer and it works great and is a lot cheaper than the Ofna or Hudy. They have a wide selection of arbors and will make you a custom arbor if you send them a rim, so you never have to worry about them not making an arbor for cars in the future. The Mugen MRX3 is a good current example of this. A buddy of mine has the Cobra Trackside (dc) truer and it also works well. It's only $100 and runs off a stick pack. I recommend Cobra truers highly. Tower sells both models.

Bolink Boy a Maxmod is probably hard to come by but if you can go for any Maxmod you can get as they all work great from ac or dc. I have the old big sized MaxMod and it will eat anything, tires, rims, fingers, and anything else you feed it. I keep mine in strict diet.
Cobra stuff is normally lower end and ok if you can't afford a better unit. I saw a guy a few weeks ago with a Maxmod that is dc and he ran it off his power supply. Worked very well for what you want to do with it and is small.
I will keep my eyes open for you and if I find one that is good I will let you know.

Damn if I would have known about 3 weeks ago I could have got you one for 100 bucks and only used once.
I will have mine with me on Saturday and I will be their by no later than 11. If you want to true your tires let me know.

I picked up a used Maxmod (from the same friend - he sold it to me very very cheaply - Thanks Richard) and have never looked back. It's AC and has way more power than the DC one.
Anyway, I would stay with Ofna or Hudy if I were to get another truer.

The trackside truer works pretty well as long as you don't try to make the cut too deep or go too fast. I would skip the snakeskin cutter. It really doesn't work all that well and makes a helluva lot of smoke. Try to find a carbide cutter. I bought one for around $20 and it is awesome! I can't remember who makes it, but it looks like a Dremel grinding drum, but has these sharp carbide "needles" sticking out that do the cutting work.

Can someone tell me where I can get a Maxmod? (Any online stores?)

I saw one at San Antonio last week. Dunno if it's the one you are looking for, but it was a DC model. Looks like it's been there a while (along with the rest of their electrics!)
