Gear diff modification to extend the life of plastic gears:
Add more SH0.1 shims according to the picture after grinding of two ST20 parts.

guys, how tight did your gear diffs feel when building them.
Ive built mine and was pretty maticulous with the grinding of the ST20 and shimming but it feels quite tight now, when assembled with Reinhard B oil.
Feels like a reasonable tight ball diff.
I am only asking as my Tamyia gear diff felt nice and free when built just trying to work out if i need to take this one apart again and make sure something is seated correctly
Cheers

also when changing the shock action as everyone seems to be running asymmetric how far do you need to screw the SS3X4 into the shock. Do you screw it all the way in or leave it flush with the top ??
Anyone please let me know ASAP
Thanks

Unsure as well with the correct use, I screw the grub screw until it stopped using as little force as possible - just in case.

Maybe Oleg can give a bit of insider info on the shock internals as Im too scared to even take out the screws as oil might leak. would be good to know if they can also be rebuild as well. as overtime the oil will need topping I guess.

ok thanks maybe ill take the gear diff apart again just to check as it feels a lot stiffer than my Tamiya V2's
I wondered if you leave the screws further out and thats what makes the difference to the shock as there is extra space where the end of the screw would be if that makes sense.
Oleg can you confirm exactly what we are supposed to do with the grub screw to change the shocks.
Thanks

ok another question regarding the build when assembling the steering rack on page 13 does the second M3x12 grub screw remain sticking out of the bottom of the rack ??? with the spacers advised its impossible to screw it all the way in
Whats everyone else done ?

Dampers: Screw the grub screw until it stopped using moderate force. These screws prevent against dust and dirt penetration.
Some oil drops is possible on the dampers body during operation at first period.
It is normal. Some excessive oil penetrates into dampers during assembling due to technological reasons but this excessive oil is not involved in the damping.
Diff: Please play with amount of 0.1mm shims under 5x8 bearings but everytime use more shims from steel gear side than from other.
Some running-in is useful also sometimes.
