Looking for some gearing info, as been running 48 pitch gears on my old vta car and picked up a a700?? Not sure on which one it is, but it has 64 pitch gears, so anyone have a good starting point as this will be a VTA car with a decent 25.5 motor, the straight away will be around 60 feet long, so any help

Also any ideas on how I can figure out what the cars are, maybe pics or websites??

I run my A700 in 21.5 Blinky on a very large outdoor track geared 38/52 if that helps.

Our local carpet track is about this long. I run 48 pitch on my A700, with a 30T pinion and a 60T spur (Robinson # 1860) for an FDR of 4.16. For the larger track at the Omaha Hobbyplex, an FDR of about 3.8 to 3.9 is good. This is all with my trusty old Novak 25.5.

The Robinson 60T 48p spur lets me run correct FDRs on my USGT and TC cars, as well. It's much easier setting mesh on 48p versus 64p when age catches up with your eyesight!

I use 4.16fdr with my Novak 13.5t motor... 25.5t will not move at that fdr unless you have 60+ degrees timing...
48p is the best....
