What, if any, advantage is there to running the A700-MG gears in the GD2 diff? Is this necessary if you want to run only 2 satellite gears? I have the stock gears in the new evo2 I bought and metal gears in an older 700L I bought. The 700L diff with only 2 satellite gears seems substantially smoother.
I'm running 17.5, are the metal gears more suited for modified?

Metal gears where popular/maintenance free with gd1. Two gears + 5k was very popular...

When gd2 came out people tried many options. Metal shephard gears allowed for more forward bite. The new amtx gears are pretty std in our setups now...

Default Best motor for A700EVO

Anyone can tell which Turn of motor is the best fit for running on the A700EVO?

ebay. xenon ultimate machine cut spur.

AM01-1, can that be used with C21-2 on the EVO II?

If you are using it in the front to turn the car back into an L, then no, you will need an L topdeck as well

On one of my EVO II i'm using a AM18-01 up front with a C02-2, was looking to setup up another EVOII into an L. Thanks for the clarification.

The new manual for the A700L2 is published with using C21-2 upper deck,

I see in most pictures that people don't have the diff covers on so I'm assuming that is the way you run them? I have only run with the covers on so far. Do people tend to leave just the bottom cover on? Can't imagine there's any advantage other than it looks cooler without them?

I use them outdoors. For carpet racing I take them off.

Thanks. Top and bottom? Just wasn't sure if the bottom one would stay in place without the top? Thanks again

I run with my diff covers on (even though I'd really like to run with them off, the gears look so beautiful) mainly because they help the FFG move properly and return to the correct position. If I didn't have the FFG I would probably considering running without them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I also think with the first version (or early versions) of the FFG you have to run the covers in order to limit the movement. Otherwise the axles will fall out of the out-drives.

I‘ve read that page, but am still not cleared.

The A700L is without the FFG? But it can be upgraded with FFG?

Apart from that, is there other differences?

Thank you.
