That was just this one race and maybe the previous one. They usually have 5-6. They just dont limit the entries and it causes them to have to cut practice short.

And you have to think. This is Europe's version of the Snowbirds, Carpet nats, Reedy Race, Paved Nats, IIC and Halloween Classic. They dont have a lot of other big races like we do.

Would any of you recommend using the top deck when running the car on carpet with rubber tires?

I am looking for advice on getting more "off power" stability for my 17.5 car, my car is fast and really good on-power and if i get out front i am gone. but when i am in the "field" if i have to check up mid corner my car gets squirley, to the point where the back tires try to lead. i am running the Josh Cyrul mile high set-up almost to the t.

I have been thinking of trying a front diff insted of the spool, any other advice would be much appreciated.

First thing I would try is reducing the amount of droop in the rear. When you let off the throttle the weight shifts forward too much. Reducing the droop in the rear will reduce the off throttle weight shift. Josh's setup calls for 3.5mm droop over ride height, which is a lot more than most people use.
If that doesn't solve it I would try flattening ( leveling ) out the lower balls instead of running squat and dive .... And /or I'd look at the amount of active toe in the rear.

two more suggestions-
#1 zero front toe
#2 "flatten" the front upper camber links will add predicability needed for slow classes. i did this at snowbirds in mod tc too..

top deck is great in high grip. it eliminates the 'stall' of the car when cornering.

removing your top deck is a great fast setup change for low grip scenarios.

Great. Thanks. The grip on our carpet is pretty good.

Just fllowing this thread, and have an question to your #2 advice. "Flatten" means removing shims and lowering the ballcup ore something complety different ??

Top deck is also very good on low-traction track, not especially on high grip.

With the top deck, the car is more stable, but has a little bit less steering.

If you look at Josh's set up he has 2mm of shimming under the front ball stud and 6mm under the rear.

What Mike was suggesting was to just make those even. Say 2mm front and rear.

F.F.G. with damping solution ready for track tests (no picture).

Additional front supports for bodyshell, eliminates strain and preserves wheel arches during impacts.

Is there any tips to prevent diff oil from leaking through the hole inside the outdrive cups?

Thank you.
