I'm guessing we're gonna have to go heavy on the damper fluid with the limited "A" gap adjustment?

we will see. now at least i understand why the "A" gap is truly limited. my suspension is super light with the DR6 / DL6 for high grip carpet--

Front A=4; B=4.2 == 49.1
Rear A=4.2; B=3.0 == 55.6

i'm going to start at--

Front A=2; B=6.7 == 49.2
Rear A=2.4; B=5.8 == 55.4

i'll run my 17.5 stock car back to back w/ this new Evo II kit for the first time on Saturday. same motor type (Team Powers), battery (Aero Model 7600 90c), ESC (LRP Flow) to attempt to isolate some of the changes. i want to put A700-D2 into my 17.5 car later in the day.

i'll be building A700-D2 with Associated 80wt (1000 cst) tomorrow.

Default open ball cups play

thinking about switching to tthe open ballcuos and studs, just wanted to ask how the slop is compared to the old ones.
currently using Kyosho grey hard ballcups, with some plastic bag clipped between the stud and the ball- free and almost zero slop.... even after months, but have to clipp them of when making adjustments...
"does the plastic bag trick" also work with open ballcups... hope you know what i mean...
hope someone has some info

had the same thoughts after looking at the pictures...

it more and more is getting a "batmobile-spacecraft-transformer" appearance over the years

Jacob- lol.
Kiwano- I'll tell you how tight the cups remain after a race day. The bag trick can work with open ended cups. If you saw how loose my TOP balls/cups are on my 17.5 car you might laugh. The balls just wear out over time...

ok, thank you, will give them a try,

by the way have tried the thicker carbon ffg rod instead of the alloy one i have bend and it feels to soft for modified 5.5t..

Has anyone tried the steel rod(st34 ffg)? should be stiffer than the alloy one but cant find it in any shop...

i haven't heard for a steel rod since the initial FFG prototypes.

the more recent FFG 1.0, and all FFG 1.1 included AT31. this is more than sufficient for mod....

ok, thanks,
have used at 31 till it bend, it worked perfectly fine, just wanted to ask if the steel ones hit mass production...(there was an old announcment on awesomatix usa website)
the at31 was out of stock so i have bought c31 carbon rod. feels a lot softer, but perhaps its just my imagination

I was thinking of building up my old A700L with my old AL chassis. How would I run this in regards to the AM11? Do I use AM11 with no stiffener, or run the stiffener and no AM11? Or is there an alternate part to AM11 that can be used with the stiffener?

The only rods listed at http://www.awesomatixusa.com/p/parts.html are AT31, C31, C31s.

right now the only option is to run w/o the AM11. moving to the AT04-2 is the best option as it removes the need for the guide bearings.

Ok, will try it with out the AM11 this weekend. What should I keep an eye on? could the At04 bend with out the Am11? this will be in 17.5.

don't worry about the AT04 bending w/o the AM11. it works well upto 13.5T blinky.

reminder - if you run the alloy chassis without center brace it WILL bend.
