So I finally got to run my EXL last weekend and with the Fairtrace setup it was ok, change the front to 6 castor and -2 camber and it was better. BUt im still lacking the steering and response that im looking for, any tips? Car was running on jacos since my sorex were blown out and junk.

Does the car have enough physical throw in your outside front wheel? You need to be able to produce 17 degrees. I've seen "steering" issues be build issues before.

And to confirm -- your running am19?

Wish I checked this before chasing what felt like a tweak issue. Sure enough, the right front didn't produce 17 degrees (more like 15 in my case). I will always check steering throw before hitting the track from here forward.

Lol. If only you were a hot woman and said this..

It's more like the beating I've taken from Larry drove me to not take the small things for granted. If your car is the same/perfect every time it hits the track you'll be better off. That is where caster doodles can play a big part.

It's always the small things...
I love my caster doodles, a 'must have' for this car IMHO.

+1 - too much setup-related guesswork involved without them...

Your attachment point on the servo must be vertically higher.
If the link rubs on the top deck just lower the shim # on the steering rack.

My cars get 18 to 19 degrees on each side at full throw/full dual rate. I generally race with 17 degrees (70-80% dual rate)

I have a xray servo saver on the car and i cant go any higher on it or lower on the other end or is rubs the top deck and the center shaft, should i be running a different saver or just a servo horn?

I run the "pointy" new xray servo saver but use the top hold to the outside of the car. Ie off center in the saver but at a 90 degree angle.
