Guys -- I'm running this system at the Halloween Classic in 13.5 TC. The parts are very cool. If your in the house ... Stop by.

We will try to video this in the upcoming weeks.

Once we hear about pricing and eta both kits and upgrades should be available.

The positive effects get smaller the weaker the motor...... It's best suited for Mod , but let's hope it does make a difference in the less powerful stock classes, which the A700 already dominate....

4 Awesomatix A700 in 17.5 tc @ the Halloween classic after 3 rounds
1- Larry
3- Gee
6- Karl
8- Hanulec

Low turn outs in 13.5 and mod. Great to have Brent making the trip from Denver too. One more round tomorrow and then a single main.

Hey guys. What would I need to look at if I was to run the L version in modified? We are about to have our regional championship and I have been running the chassis in 13.5 boosted which is not far off mod in lap times but the driving characteristics are quite different running a 4.5t. I would look at the spur damping system, anything else? Obviously the EXL seems more suited to mod but I am currently running a yokomo BD7 and it is very good modified car, it's just that L has been going so well in 13.5 it's had to not want to give the car a run in modified!
Cheers
Simon

Simon-
You can run the L car in mod. Many drivers do as it frees up the car in the corner.

The setup between stock and mod will be different. Not sure if you need more parts-- but track time is key. The future A700L Evo car would be a great future change.

Yeah thanks Mike,
Can't wait for the release of the new parts they look great. The innovation is what made me buy the chassis in the first place!
I know this is track and driving style based and I will be doing plenty of testing but with going to a mod motor in the L are the guys running longer or shorter links in general?
Cheers

Hi Simon,

Mike is at the Halloween Classic today so I'll jump in here to give my thoughts.

Although it really depends on the entire geometry / setup you use, in general I would say the standard length ( as shown in the manual ) upper links is safer to start with for Mod wind motors.

Typically short links create more aggressive / instant camber gain. This can make the car more difficult to drive because mod motors have the ability to shift weight more violently than stock wind motors.

It appears the "sweet spot" / "setup window" for upper links for most motors, is either standard length or one step shorter ( using AM19 ). It just depends on the geometry of the rest of your setup, chassis flex settings, damping, spring, weight bias, etc.... and then hopefully, as you mentioned, it meets your driving style.

Jake D.

Congrats to Karl Hoffmeister on converting his tq in 17.5 to a win this afternoon at the Halloween classic. Close behind Karl was Mike Gee and Larry Fairtrace in 2nd and 3rd. Overall 5 cars in 17.5 --- the most of any one manufacture.

It was great to meet new racers and see all of the classes with Awesomatix cars in them. Thank you everyone. Should be a great season...

Great, thanks Jake I thought as much.
Has anyone looked at running a combination of short and long links?
