Default Damper Issues

With 4 runs on my freshly built A700 on asphalt the car perform pretty well. With carpet season almost here, wanted to get some laps in on the car. Had a long practice day on Saturday and the first half of the day went pretty much perfect. The latter half...totally opposite. On power, off power the car just kept spinning to the right. No matter what I tried...couldn't mend it. After stripping the car down to the chassis and electronics, took the rear geardiff apart and found close to no fluid in it I was told that this could have been the big issue. No bent or broken parts, or anything bound up. So everything seemed normal.

Putting a different setup on the car as I'm rebuilding it though, I see that my RR and LF dampers have spooge coming out the front of the 'barrel' around the screw and also the backside. No biggie, I wipe clean and I set the dampers from Sym (kit settings) to Asym and find that they are not behaving the same as their opposites. Same compression and rebound strokes After awhile of fiddling, I gave up. They behave Symmetrically no matter what.

My question is- is something wrong with the dampers and are these original dampers still available? And if not, what can I do to get my car back up and running again?

JayBee,

It is difficult to say what is actually wrong with your dampers being at such long distance from them.
Right after release of the new dampers we have offered the replacement of old dampers by new dampers at discounted price for owners of our old A700 cars. I recommend you to do this now.
The alternative possibility - to send your dampers to our Taiwan factory for reparing.
Please inform me via PM what do you prefer.

I like running mine with the covers. I think to car is a bit quieter than those at our track without. Plus i like to lube the gears slightly to help with wear. If I used this car outside i would definitely run with the covers.

Hey Brandon,

much to Jakes chagrin, I haven't run covers when running indoors on carpet. Never seemed to be an issue, but there is always a first time...
I suppose even indoor dust will be attracted to any lube on the gear teeth, so it should be considered as wear potential. They are not hard to put on I was just lazy and never put them back on forgetting to after switching out from asphalt set up the season before.

It is nice to look at the gears spinning. It brings back memories of being a kid watching mechanical things going around and around, and that helps makes us feel young again.

Personally, I've tried a bunch of setups, but I really like bars on the A700. The bar mount system makes it easy to work w/ them...
Yeah that's the post I was talking about. I'd agree with you, I've liked my car better with sway bars so far. Seems like everyone does.

Outside=covers
Inside=no covers

For what it's worth I like swaybars.

Oleg, please see pm

Regarding diff cover a team mate and I have both been running without diffcovers inside.
However outside I used them and he did not. He didn't have a single problem.

Have you tried those body stiffeners angled outwards? Pushing down on the body, they felt more effective that way on my T4.
