I've got two questions though:

-Has anyone tried to run the car without the main shaft support, the two ball bearings which support the shaft?. Since I'm only running 13,5 blinky I thought about leaving it out to create a bit more space for the electronics.

-Last week I had my first race with the car, and this was also the first time I ran new tires. I scrubbed them in to get rid of the molding line (Ride 32 tires) and prepared them for the first qualifier. For some reason the car was slower on the new tires compared to older tires which had been run for around 400 laps. They started to get better after 3 runs, but still the car wasn't as good as on the old tires. It felt very nervous, unstable and the rear was breaking loose at the apex of several corners.
Does anyone know how this can happen?. The rubber tires are new to me so I guess it has something to do with tire preparation or car setup.
I will post my setup tomorrow since I don't have my car with me right now.
On old tires the setup is very close to what it should be, slight hint of understeer at corner entry but very stable and easy to drive.
Carpet or asphalt?

SPR02 Shock Rod Guide must have right shape to provide smooth movement of ST05 Shock Rod without jamming.

Usually, cases of ST05 pop out are very rare even without any additional 0-rings or tubes and we have not received complaints about it.
Hello Oleg I took the front end apart and I think this might have been caused by the spr01 .....as i was taking it apart i noticed more play with the shock spring on the same side i was losing the shock rod each time so i figured perhaps with that shock spring being a little twisted it would allow the rod more room to drop if it were to pop out.

I would leave the center bearing support in. As hard as we are gearing the cars in 13.5 - it is better to keep the drivetrain and shaft alignment intact. You should have no issue even fitting ESCs as large as the ORCA units in the car.

As far as new tires vs. old tires. Too many variables. I suggest talking to the other racers at your track to get a sense of tire compounds and prep. Once you get a good sense of what to run and how to prep you can start to triangulate a setup. Check out the Awesomatix site. There are some good starters for Carpet and Asphalt. Generally, the setups from Carpet to Asphalt are fairly close with some exceptions of dampening and droop.

More important, it might be helpful to describe your home track - surface, layout, traction characteristics. Chance are, someone here will have a similar track and can suggest a good baseline setup.

There are some situations where new tires are not as ideal as old tires. That said, I usually try to keep a max run on my tires to a certain number of runs and then assign them for practice.

Default A700

How many of these are in the states roughly? Will these ever be picked up by someone in the U.S. to distribute?

I experienced the dreaded failure of the ball joints (P01 popping off P02) for the first time yesterday. It's important to note that P02 did not pop off the ball studs (ST03). It happened to both the rear driver and passenger side on seperate occasions resulting in a DNF of both my qualifiers. Hopefully, Oleg and team is working on a new/improved solution.

On a positive note, the car's setup and handling is really coming around at my local indoor asphalt track. I struggled initially with traction roll issues but with the help of my go to for help and fast guy at the track the car is getting sorted out very nicely.

Driving an Awesomatix, Neudinger followed the gearing ratios contained in the manual of the unique Russian designed car but when manually calculated at post race tech inspection it was discovered those figures in the manual had been rounded up and he was infact running 4.979. Although he believed Neudinger had not intentionally tried to break the minimum 4.50 ratio rule, race director said Scotty Ernst said the rule was was in place in the super close class and he had no choice but to disallow the time.

I didn't do anything... Awesomatix apparently did some creative rounding, that's all.

I hope this is referring to me, considering all I did was copy-paste an article on ETS from RedRC. Pretty pathetic if this is your response.

Raced again today in local club series event held at Segrate.
Adopted a few minor changes since the last race, and managed to score a best lap of the day in 21,391, knoked 0,3 from my best previous lap. In one of the finals 15 laps in 5' 20", a lap more since the previous race. Modified couldn't manage any better. I raced in 10.5 with foam tyres, as usual. Wonder how my Awesomatix would manage in modified with SP tyres !?

Ran the A700 at my local indoor carpet track with great results. I feel comfortable in saying that I've turned the corner with this car. The days of struggling to find rear traction is (hopefully) behind me. So, the good news is that I didn't have any ball joint failures (or any failures for that matter) in the qualifying rounds. Bad news, ball joint popped off in the main from an incidental contact from a car behind me. I'm not discouraged but would feel better knowing that a revised/improved solution will be released. Regardless, it's going to be a great winter indoor carpet seaon.
