Like I mention in the sheet, when I ran the Tamiya, the stock RC's out of that tool were F -2.6, R -5. When I ran the same tool on the Losi, I found the rear had the RC too low, so targeted a similar level of split to the tamiya... lo and behold, got my best result of the season after doing that!

MD I've got a TRF416 version, never bothered with the 417, as very little change between the cars (upper inner link really).

Sorry for the possibly obvious question, but is -.5 mean no spacers under the arm pivot balls?

Oh, also, nice work!

Haha, no... it means using shorter ball studs, which is something I'm investigating at the mo, as means to lower the rc..

Serpent offer a very very very similar version too (so similar I bet they come out of the same factory!)... work very well, and run nice and true.

I had a TRF416X and I ran F -2.28 R -4.43 (calculated with your previous sheet )

Now in the same track with A700 I ran F +0.78 R +0.78....

Really? I put a .xls and .xlsx file in there. You have uncompressed the file, right? Need winzip or similar to do that.

That's kinda the idea I'm trying to understand about the car. I know what worked well on the tam, so I'm going to shoot for a similar F-R split, as, IMO, that's what deals with the balance. I'm not saying the numbers need to be the same, but I tend to use the split between F&R to help define the balance of the car.
A couple of things to remember about this car, firstly the CoG is lower, and secondly (certainly with the long car) the weight is more central. Both year point contribute to a car that doesn't use roll to generate grip. I'm not saying it does need to roll as much (the low CoG is a help, deffiently in traction roll conditions) but in low grip, roll helps to numb reaction, and generate grip, in my experience.
Obviously, there are a lot of other settings to change (setup is compromise after all!) but it gives an indication at least. And that's all it is really, a tool to help, doesn't replace testing stuff out

Having set the pace in Q3 Freddy Südhoff suffered a spur gear failure in the fourth heat but goes into the final qualifier as the only driver who can deny Volker from starting tomorrow’s final on pole position. Setting the fastest lap for the round with a 12.743, Marc Rheinard was on a potential TQ run until a mistake on lap 8 cost him over 2 seconds, a further two mistakes meant the World Champion ended up with 19th for the round.
