Awesomatix EP Touring Car (A700 Shaft Drive)

I will answer the one question you asked me about the shrink tubing. No you do not have to cut it everytime if you size it right. I simply slide mine to the bone end service the shaft with grease and slide the shrink tube back over to cover the joint.

We all have answered your questions based on what we do with our own cars, just like Mark said, we are all still learning the chassis.. As far as grease and lubes go.. Its all preference...we all comented and you can take the info and make your own decision, it's like beer...everyone has a brand/taste they enjoy..there is no real right or wrong.... Take someones suggestion and try it and see if you like it....

So it is not shrinked on with a heat gun?
Or is it? And if it is, than I don't understand, because in my experience when shrinked around something with heat one can not slide it off anymore.
If it is not, shrinked with heat that is, than you use shrink tube that is just adbout the diameter of the joint, so there is a thight fit?
One other thing. You say:"We all have answered your questions based on what we do with our own cars."
Please don't make that sort of statements if there not true. I am allergic to that!
The ones that are not answered are:
- question about 1000 cps diff oil
- the one from yesterday 09:23 AM on three ways of servicing the universals
- the one from 03-12-2012 01:09 PM on how to supply and how many times and so on
- the one from 03-12-2012 10:55 AM on 10mm en 12mm wrench

I appreciate that your wanting to find out whats good for the car, but do you actually intend to drive the car yourself, or you want us to build it and drive it for you too?
Just follow the advice and define your own methods that suit you.
A little thing called research goes a long way... as does actually reading things... like here..

Diff oil... 1000cps is fine to start, but as with most things, different oils can be used to alter the setting. So keep an open mind, as what works for someone else, might not work for you.
Universials... you've been offered three different ways to try servicing it, and everyone has their own preferred method. You could ask the question to five different people and get different answers, so find which one you like and use that (i.e. make an informed decision..). I just use a couple of drops of light oil, no wear issues.
And, seriously, you have to be kidding about the 10 and 12mm wrench... they are just that, a bog standard 10 and 12mm spanner that you can get in any full size tool kit. Simple.

I think people on this thread have been more than gracious in answering questions, myself included. I'm willing to continue, but some gratitude is customary, and actually jumping into the game will go a long way.

This car is way to advanced and way to new, to just give you _THE_ correct answer to maintenance and setup. For that you want a more established car, such as the Xray or Tamiya. But even with those car, you will still get different answers to maintenance and setup.

As has been mentioned before by numerous people, this car requires a certain knowledge level, and a willingness to experiment with all it's avaliable options. It is not a car that you can simply pick up, build and throw on the track. All the concepts are new, we're all still finding out feet. And that is its appeal.. Especially when you get it right, makes the hard work pay off.
If you don't like the sound of that, well I recomend you look elsewhere.
