Thumbs up

I've tested the pack today...
First with 17.5, it's kind of a little bit off the pace comparing to 4-cell/17.5.
Then changing to 13.5, it comes alive with this combination. The pace is pretty close to 4-cell/17.5. I felt just a little flat after 6 min mark....but the laptimes are still consistant till 8 mins.
Happy so far....IMO this lipo thing will be a big hit very soon.

Our local track will allow us to race 1-cell/13.5 with 4-cell17.5 for this weekend. We will see.

Note: LRP 13.5 and LRP Sphere Comp TC (with MuchMore Mini Lipo 300mAh 7.4V receiver pack)

I hope to have mine ready to rip next weekend.

Someone told me that Trinity is not going to make the SPEC packs any more. This might replace that.

Good news, I will be trying an almost identical setup this weekend racing against some 4 cell 17.5 cars, we shall see how it compares.

I forgot to ask, did you add any weight to the pack?

No weight yet. I will have to do it on a race day though.

No we don't offer any reciever packs. You should look into some of the Airplane Lipos they have them around 300 to 350 which should be perfect.

Today I talked to Charlie at Novak to see when the Booster circuit would be ready and he tells me it's atleast a month away and possibly a bit more. He told me that with the Booster and a Novak speed control that this will remove the dumping feeling. So I look forward to see of this is the case as that would be great. He did tell me that the Booster is bulky but it will fit in a 12th scale. I will see if Donny Lia can take a picture of the prototype he has been running.

What kind of voltage and current capability will this voltage booster have?

I don't have the specs but I will ask them. I assume it will be 6 volts and enough amps to power the servo but I will get the exact specs. I think it also has a Lipo cutoff included with it but I'm not 100% sure.

If it's gonna supply 6 volts and handle 3 amps continuous, it would explain why it will end up being bulky.

Danny, as soon as you can get an answer about the KO and Orion speed controls that would be awesome. I'm going to order one if you can confirm it will work and I think they're just a week or two away.

Also storing the pack with 7.8 volts is to high. As were getting use to Lipos in high end racing I have noticed that storage charge seems to affect the packs performance. So the key is to use very little storage charge as Lipos don't selfdischarge real fast. I have left packs discharged at 35 amps down to 6 volts and then they sit for 6 weeks and the voltage really hasn't dropped. In one of my tests I kept a pack fully charged for one week and that packs dropped 10 seconds in runtime and the IR went up a bit. So we still are learning as to what keeps the pack in top condition.
Is there anyway of getting the IR back down again?

Has anyone tried the 1s pack in GT with a 10.5 or lower?
In the UK the GT rules will have a 10.5 class and a Mod class.

A big thing to keep in mind fellas, if we're going to make this work in the long term, we really have to be cool about it. We can't push it too hard or do anything stupid with "voltage assist ala receiver pack" stunts. We must keep the long term goal in mind and just not do anything stupid. A lot of us are close to having what we want, let's be smart about it.
