I ran mine today with a lrp sphere comp 07 and a receiver pack. After an 8 minute run, the receiver pack took 30 mAh and the car didn't really drop off power wise, more traction wise.

It's seeming more and more like the Tekin is the problem and most other speed controls are doable for 8 min. I'm starting to feel kinda dumb for ordering a 1350 lipo RX pack now...

Race Report with the gtb.
Did not drop off at all.
It is completley equal to 17.5 4 cell. Maybe even a hair slow on the straight.

Im not sure how to link the Jlap qualifier sheets. But if you are interested in the laptimes go to jlap and click on race results, then the state of Maryland or region 2, then on Hobbytown USA-Frederick. Karl Hoffmeister is the lipo 13.5 car, all others are 4 cell 17.5.

Edit, Here is the cleanest heat for the day.

Great report Karl - thanks. I'm going to be testing my 1c this Friday. I've decided to run it w/ my oldest Lipo speedo, a LRP Sphere 05. I have a receiver pack and voltage booster for electronics tests planned. I'm going to run with a 10.5T motor to see if and how the run falls off. I'll let everyone know.

We tried it today with both an LRP Sphere and a SpeedPassion GranTurismo - everything was wired up normal, and the ESC Switch was kept OFF...

Both worked fine and had no problem lasting far past 8 minutes without a cutoff! The Rx pack did NOT overdrain on the LRP anymore when using it with the ESC switch off - only 60mah per run .

Like Ike said, it seems like the Tekins are the only mainstream ESCs that have a problem lasting 8 minutes without some sort of ESC cutoff. Two guys ran the lipo at this last race - one qualified 2nd overall (~16 entries).

I hadn't thought of that, guess I'll have to weigh all my components and see how it even's out. Thanks for the idea Thanks Danny.

Thanks JB!!!!

I am curious about what changes to rollout people are trying with the lipo.

Regards,
Carter

My rollout with 4 cell 17.5 is the same as 13.5 lipo.

Here is a chart of my rollout. I started my tires at 43.5 and used a 51 pinion and 78 spur.

Brian,

What's up! - Hey, what rcvr pack did you use and did you use a voltage regulator? I have a LRP 07 Comp speedo, Futaba 2.4 rcvr and 9602 servo. I hope this combo will work w/out a regulator. What rollout did you run?
Hit me up!

I just read back 2 pages and must be missing something, clue me in here. Why are some of you turning the ESC switch on with the newer BL ESCs? As far as I've learned, the ESC switch should NOT be turned on when using a Rx pack. I've used Rx packs as far back as the 80's with brushed ESCs and never once had the ESC switch on. Also didn't get any wierd issues either.

If I remember correctly, don't the oval pan car guys run RX packs in certain applications? My Maveric car has miniature cell slots for the old school Sanyo Rx pack.
