Default No more Tekin service

It looks like ExpressTech is done. I got this email last night from Jose Lopez, when I inquired about getting software upgrades to handle NiMH cells:

SORRY WE NO LONGER HAVE SOFTWARE CHIPS, WE ARE ALSO CLOSING AND NO LONGER WILL BE DOING TEKIN REPAIRS, SORRY
So much for my BC112As coming back to life...

Indeed it is. I just got this from Jose:
Hello,
Express tech will be closing it's shop to tekin repairs on 10/6/03, this means no more repairs will be available, we are sorry but certain circumstances force us to not be able too do repairs anymore, anybody who has items with us or on the way will be taken care of, but our mail box will be closed on 10/10/03 so please do not try to send anything, we regret that this has to happen but we have no other choice, no questions on why we are closing please, we do not intend to answer them.
We thank you all for the business sent this way and wish everybody the best
Thanks, Jose

Yep, they were ahead of their time. I still have a G-9 and a G-12CIII escs. They are bullet proof. The 112C charger was awsome too. Can charge from 1-12 cells, thus the name, and has a built-in 24 V(although it reads 19.99 on the display) power supply that can crank up to 10 amps. I just hope somebody picks them up.

I seruously doubt it. I've beek looking for someone to repair my BC112Cs for almost a year, and just when I found Jose he's closing up shop. Hell, if I could get the schematics, I could fix them myself, but no one seems to have them, or want to sell them if they do. The TSC432M on my boat will now be more carefully guarded than usual.

<moment of silence>

If the charger will accept 24VDC, then yes. If you're ont sure, don't. The Tekin aux PS output was designed for other Tekin products, which were happy taking 24V as an input. Most of the stuff I've seen likes 12-15V. You've been warned...

I think he was asking if he could use the PS in the Tekin to power other chargers....

My Milennium Pro will be here soon, I hope, as I need an excuse for a proper funeral for my dearly departed BC112As.
