Hello,

I just got the Noval 4cell GTB ESC for my 1/12 and it runs very very hot even at moderate speed.

I use 4600NiMh batteries with a Novak 4.5R motor. I set a mode 1, and after 1 run, it's hot enough to burn my finger if I don't take it off after 1-2 seconds.

I run pinion 18T and spur 100T (64 pitch) for my CRC.

Does anyone have similar experience?

Well your gearing sounds about right and unfortunately I do not think you are the only one to encounter this problem. I have known fellow racers who despite any change they made, continued to have their GTB thermal in their 1/12 scale. I have run this setup both with a 4.5L and as low as an 8 turn motor but did not have a problem. Due to all the problems of fellow racers, I chose to sell the 4 cell version to prevent a risk of any thermaling. Best of luck.
