XRAY T2’009

Xray makes great cars, but there's no need to worship and defend everything they sell. I will stop my comments here and prepare my car for the 'weekend parking lot racing'. It will not be fair to other forum users if we let this debate drag on. I'll let you have the last word/closing statement, which I'm sure you (and your sidekick) will insist. Have a great weekend and enjoy your RC!

on a serious note, I always believe 'you get what you pay for'.
I have atomic universals on my car as it allows my car to steer 'wobble' free on anything more than 50% steering travel. They are cheap, compared to xray's aftermarket ecs shafts. However I have had a few dnf's due to the pins breaking, and also the actual shaft breaking too. When they fail completely, I will just use the standard xray cvd's as they are indestructible.

I use a 007 for fun 'weekend runs', ( 008 for more serious stuff )
007 makes a great basher as its just so tough. It cost me less than a new TT01 :-)

HI Guys,
Can any one help me understand the idea behind the 2mm shims xray staes in there manual as adjusting the steering. By this I mean why moving the shocks 2mm away from the tower changes the cars handling?
If any one has tried this can you also help with what end to do it on what effect it has, i.e front shimmed- less steering, rear shimmed-more steering? Shims front and rear less all around?
One last thing, do you shim the top and bottom of the shock?
thanks in advance,
mi

BUT!!!! I still can not figure out why the manual states that moving the shocks away from there mountings by 2mm would make the car smoother and easier to drive through chicanes??

Need high speed steering.
Hello fellas! I was hoping I could get some help dialing in some more highspeed steering into my 09. Low speed, and medium speed steering is perfect, the car handles like a dream. But, we have a really highspeed sweeper, and id like to be able to hold full throttle through it with my tekin turbo still engaged, but when I do, the car pushes a bit too much... so id like to do some small tweaking to get more steering, under highspeed.
Ill try to list my setep best I can here:
Track - outdoor medium traction asphault, sprayed with mountain dew
front camber -2
rear camber -2
rear toe in -2
front toe out +1
upper roll center adujustments - lower and inner hole front, lower and outer hole, rear
Ride height 5.2mm front and back
2.8 springs front and back
35 weight oil front and back (I think 3 hole pistons? i forget).
Everywhere but top speed sweaper, the car handles perfectly...
Thanks for any help you can provide, let me know if you need any other measurements off my car.
