For the T2R, the internal ratio is 1.7. I already use 78/48 spur with 28T pinion. This is the smallest spur I can found and largest pinion for the motor position. it is still not top speed enough for my 11.5 motor. What is the solution? thanks

Are you sure thats the largest pinion? Anyway, with that ratio now its already pushing it a little with the 11.5T. If you wanna go faster get a hotter motor.

I agree, I don't have my 13.5 geared that high and I am also using the 78 tooth spur.

cyanyde: Yes. I am using ratio final drive ratio 4.7 and sure I can't go with bigger pinion as the motor is already to the front most. I want to use 4.5. I'm wondering how does people gearing with 13.5

the motor 11.5 i use is not stock spec

Need to kmow what esc, motor and battery you are using. What is the track size, and what is your motor temp after 5 minutes with that gearing?

I found that if you use Losi Brown diff grease on the thrust it is smoother and holds up longer in between builds. For the diff balls I use associated Silicone diff lube not the stealth. Mike Blackstock told me it holds up better than the stealth lube.

I use the AE Black Grease on thrust and Schumacher Diff Lube.

You can run almost any size RW 48p spur on 08/09 series, I use 72T

All you have to do is make a 1mm spacer (out of plastic) to replace the 1.5mm spacer (black 3 leaf clover type) that sits below spur pulley on the "spur side" of the layshaft... been using this since 08's came on the seen & can get any ratio/rollout I like..

Try sanding the thrust washer plates as well as the diff rings, the TW plates seem to be made out of hardened cheese, and not only develop a score line where the balls run, but also seem to develop large divots.

I also tried something out of the Photon, and stacked the cone washers inside each other, this makes diff adjustment a lot more sensitive, but it also gives a lot more drive out of the diff while maintaining a free diff action.

Black AE grease on the Thrust, and AE Silicone grease on the balls and plates, the tube with the red writing, not the black writing stealth grease

If you google '395016 xray' you'll find a few stores that have them in stock.

Do the ECS driveshafts fit with the aluminum C hubs? In other words, are the aluminum C hubs considered "V2" or "V1"? The Xray web site has no indication either way, and they are only pictured from the side 3/4 view, so it is impossible to tell if they are big enough to fit the ECS driveshafts through.

For those of you who are curious the 38/20 pulley conversion kit to run the 1.9 drive ratio runs very well ... ran it all last week at IIC.

I think it smooths out the on power to off power/vice versa transition handling of the car considerably.

A definate nice thing to have when throttle control is a must!

also which pin is the best for ecs driveshafts there are two different type v2 and one with flat spot ?
I 've already break two pins comes with drive shafts using top racing pins no problem so far but one of the driveshaft case pin hole has worned badly I thought that might be because of a little longer top pin...
cheers

But forcing myself to play the waiting game...probably thru November. If they shipped a "new" tc, even with the only changes being a different color and included ECS driveshafts I'd kick myself!
But if they DID include the ECS driveshafts in an 010, the kit would probably me $100 more than the 09. It would however be more "optimised"
