Hey guys I'm getting back into the hobby and I'm trying to decide between the following cars, T2 009, Cyclone and the Tamiya 416. I would imagine that some of you have driven each of the cars, I would like your opinion on each car. I'm leaning towards the T2 009, before I got out of the hobby Xray was my choice of car. Its been a few years and I have heard that the others have closed the gap on Xray. Thanks for the input to come.

What do the team guys do with regard to building a good diff?
Particularly what they do with the thrust race when rebuilding, I have rebuilt other manufactures diff's and managed to get them very smooth and free but I'm really struggling with Xray's.
I can sand the diff plates easily and get a nice finish...but what else?
Thanks

Associated grease for the diff. black for the thrust. If it's not coming out smooth you may need to replace some things. Rings will make a bit of difference. But you may have also blown the thrust bearing I have done 2, and once i replaced them, the diffs were fine ans smooth again. Only problem is that there pretty pricey.
Hope this helps,

Use 1000 grit sandpaper on the larger rings and superglue them onto the outdrives. Don´t use too much grease on the thrust race and replace the black shims every time you rebuild the diff (very important). Drive in the diff by holding one wheel at a time on low power for a couple of minutes.
I use Associated diff lube and black grease but Schumacher diff grease is the hottest one out there since Jilles promoted it on his diff building video on RedRC

Another thing is to make sure that you get the Thrust washers on correctly. They are different sizes. The smaller washer with the smaller hole goes on first. then the Thrust and then the larger washer. If you put the large washer on first it will not center correctly and catch on the diff housing.

Use the Losi thrust bearings only about $5. Doe a search on the FK05 thread for the part #.

Any Idea How Much Does It Cost?

well here is the thing
the 09 is soooo nice i dont see why x ray would rush a new car out
the already revised the 09 about 1 mouth ago
it seems to be winning so why change it.
my opinion is to take a year off and try to make a new car but take a little extra time to get it as good as they can.

Do the recently released kits come with the ECS drive shafts?

when i build my diff up and rotate the wheels the pulley seems to wobble . is it time to replace the diff screw , it does not look bent but it is hard to tell. any other reasons this could be happening ?

Rumours are abound, no doubt. I'm ready for a new tc, like yesterday!
But forcing myself to play the waiting game...probably thru November. If they shipped a "new" tc, even with the only changes being a different color and included ECS driveshafts I'd kick myself!
