You wil run into issues on start-up, especially on high turn motors (17.5, etc). Works fine once rolling, but getting rolling can be a problem. Castle is eventually releasing a sensored ESC, but no idea when.

I thought the trinity was supposed to work the same sensored or sensorless?
In a word, Hell no.

anything above 10.5, ive heard ppl having problems for start power, they seem to hesitate even with the firmware that allowed sensored motors to work properly. Im sure castle creations is working on a solution for this problem, maybe a new firmware upgrade??
Anything below 10.5, works great. I use an orion vortex 7.5, all the settings are bascially stock, stock throttle & brake curve, the motor works extremely well with the mm. i know a few guys with 4.5s that also work very well with the esc.

The problem comes from how the motors are constructed(not sure specifically, someone fill me in). Also, lower KV motors (17.5, etc) are harder to get rolling, and this is compounded by the super-tall gearing required for these motors.
There is no firmware that allowed sensored motors to work specifically work, just the newer firmware is a lot better, and so happens that mod - sensored motors work. the solution is that they are working on a new esc, and it will have a sensor port. No idea when it will be ready.
