Well aftermuch suggestion I am going to do a kit although I stated I was only going for an RTR, guess I like the idea of choosing everything myself even if it does take awhile.

So first off is the rolling chassis....what is out there for best bang for the buck..A Quality chassis that wont need muuch upgrading.Just my own on road racer but I do like good stuff.
I dont need anyting in the level of one posters suggestion, like an x ray t2 008 or Corally RDx...those to me look very high end

I think the Tamiya IFS would be the best option for the money. It has a great drivetrain and the suspension works well.. Another added bonus is that you can run almost all the RCGT bodies which is becoming a popular racing class.

If your looking into a good car that can be slowly upgraded to a great car, I would recomend the T2R XRay, or even the hot bodies cyclone car. They are both the same as their big brothers, just without the graphite chassis parts and have plastic outdrives on the diffs instead of aluminum. And if your interested I have a T2R new still sealed in the box from my hobby shop that closed last year. I will sell it for under 200. Just PM me if you want it.

Definitely go with the Tamiya TA05 or TB03...regular or IFS. They are very durable and can be upgraded to your liking or run stock. I had a TA05 and really liked it. I may be getting a TB03 IFS just to mess around with.

Associated Team Factory TC5. It's a proven onroad car with all the upgrades include in the Kit.

I don't know if stormer hobbies is still doing it but they had a bunch of brand new xray T2's for $200. An associated tc5 would also be a good cheaper option. If you want to go on the much cheaper side a tao5 or cyclone s is a good option.

go tc5 (tc5r for rubber, tc5f for foam,

they have combo's with motors from 13.5 upto a 3.5 for runtime and it being controllable I would recommend 13.5 or 10.5 motor.

Also you need to figure if you are running rubber or foam, I would recommend rubber

also get you a good 2.4ghz radio and a low profile futabe 9551 servo for the sedan.

And a body of your choice, hpi has some neat realistic looking bodies. Protoform has your more racing type bodies

for the price on these right now plus quality plus available future stuff I have narrowed it to the TC4 factory team and the Tamiya TA-05 IFS R

I can get the tc4 NIB for 175.00 or so and the TA-05 NIB for 220.00 or so

Just cant decide between the 2 right now????

Hi , for the brushless system id go with LRP or nosram TC brushless / brushed ESC , if you want to go very fast id get the speed passion 3.5 , the newer version but if you want to go fast anf controlable like bigemike said go with a 13.5 , more runtime and more fun.
Then as bigemike said save up for a good 2.4ghz system like th KO universe 3 with spektrum module .

The Associated TC5 & Losi JRXS-R are extremely competitive and at roughly $350 they are much cheaper than the other racer level cars on the market.

While all of the suggestions are good, I believe Fergup is looking for a parking lot car for bashing. He mentioned in his RTR thread that there weren't any tracks near him, so race spec equipment may be a bit much in price.

I think that there are some budget brushless systems that will do the job. I think the Novak Havoc system will suit him well. It comes with a Novak 8.5 motor for only about $140. You could go the Castle Creations route but Novak has been the gold standard in ESC's for a while and with a price that's hard to beat. I personally LOVE the Tekin RS but it may be overkill for his application.

I'm telling you a TA05 IFS + Novak Havoc w/ and 8.5 + parking lot sounds like fun to me.

Thanks for all of the advice..well received....at the end of the day, yes, a parking lot car... with probably a budget of $ 750.00 or so

I know thats probably low end but that just my initial thoughts so I f I can get a nice Road car kit, brushless with a decent transmitter etc etc that I can build in that budget then good, thats whay I am aiming for.

oh and btw when I speak of the 750 budget I am not including stuff like the body and tires/whees and any of that small basic stuff that to me is irrelevent in the cost scheme of things

TA05 IFS, EZrun 60A speedo and 6.5 motor would be plenty fast enough for a car park. also, the plastic chassis of the TA05 would be alot more resistant to scratches than a carbon race one.
