Josh-Just wondering what your opinion is with regards to the "3rd" steering mounting position on the hub....I noticed on your setup sheets that the only time you used it was on carpet..can you explain why you only used it on carpet? I was under the impression that that mounting position basically made the car "smoother"

What is your view on using it on asphalt or is it just not worth it?

Thank you,

Michael Abraira

P.S. I was the guy taking bets who had the $20.00 on you at the Carpet Nats!!....Thanks!! I owe you lunch!!!

striker - Sounds good!

TeamButter - First, I'm glad I won that bet for ya!!..lol.. The third mounting position was used to gain less ackerman. We gained highspeed steering with this but the added gain was how smooth the steering became. On asphalt and rubber tires the car was too smooth and lacked steering into any corner. We went back to the 2nd position and gained steering responce as well as the steering we needed....

Greg-We run a 19 turn class in 12th. Unfortunately it does not have that big of a following. We are primarlily a Touring Car state!! You thinking of coming down for that race?

Cool. Hope you can make it down. I'll talk to the director. If we have enough cars show up for 12th mod we can definitely make the class. If you want keep me posted via PM or email me at [email protected]

Later bro,
Mike A

Unfortunately, dirt rules around here, which pretty much sucks for me.

Hi Josh

If you had the choice to run a one way diff or normal diff on carpet with foam which would you choose?

If the rules allow it is it the norm to run a one way on carpet on foam. I assume it would be faster.

Thanks

Jason

Yeah Sprint but also way hard to drive,
In most cases the car becomes really tricky to run.
With the one-way on carpet and foams.

ALEXSCHOFIELD - I would start with a one-way. If it's too hard to drive or be consistant then you could try the spool.

TeamButter - Sounds good, I'll try to make it down!!

sprint - We never run one-ways on carpet with foam tires. It is impossible to drive in very high traction conditions..... We always run a diff and sometimes we will try a spool....
