Josh
On a tbar 12 scale car, what effect does putting 2 different size washers under the pivot balls(to angle the tbar) have on the way the car handles?

Sweet stuff! I remember hearing something about a CLMP 675 I believe. Is that still in the works or are you heading in another direction?

josh - im having problems with the exit steering on my car. initial turn is and mid corner is quite impressive but as i go deeper with the throttle as i exit it tends to push badly i tried various shock posisions and spring combinations both front and rear. i was able to get more steering using the low mounting hole on the front hingepins. would an anti squat set-up help me with this? or should i resort to another body. btw i am using a mazda 6.

I'm not Josh, but I think I can help. You could also decrease the amount of chassis lift up front by tightening the droops screws up front just a bit . It will allow for less weight transfer to go from the frotn to the back when on power.

novak - Usually, putting shims under the front of the t-bar will give you more steering as well as putting shims under both pivot ballls - Higher roll center....

striker - Mazda usually has this tendency - to turn in great and then give up and push through the center out. A different body may be a good idea to try. How much toe-in are you running?? Are you using a front diff, one-way or spool??

josh - i am using a one way, and a zero degree caster, 3mm chassis. i'm now using 3 deg tow-in (rear). would it be wise to go down to 2 deg?

Josh

If I go to a thinner TBar on my 12 scale, what effect will that have on its handling?

striker - 2 degrees would be better. Also, try moving the batteries forward if you can...

novak - Usually, a thinner t-bar will have more rear traction and handle better over a bumpy track. Steering will be less and the responce will be much slower than with a thick t-bar.

i tried 2 deg rear toe-in and i was quite amazed by the diffrence in performance. there was less understeer i guess the body compensated for the less toe-in. one thing i noticed right away was the big diffrence in the speed on the straight. the 1 degree less drag was quite noticable.

i have another question. i noticed that under my chassis was scratches on both sides. does this mean that my fk is rolling too much when cornering that the sides of my chassis scrape onto the asphalt? what should i do to remedy this? (i tried raising the ride height from 6mm to 7mm and still have this problem).

Is there a 0 deg composit caster block available for the car or does it only come in aluminum?

How durable are the aluminum blocks, with my previous cars I have always avoided them for fear of bending them.

striker - Try going 1 spring rate harder all the way around.... That may help and you may actually have to go slightly harder on dampening...

alf - The asphalt chassis is ready and shipping. I don't know the Yokomo battery location so I can't say if it's the same or not. The wheel base is exactly the same as the origional chassis. We were going to change it but then we thought against it...

mtveten - I think they come in plastic - both Soft and Medium... The plastic ones do flex a little but I have never broken one. The aluminum ones I have bent so that is still possible....
