While I have seen a lot of great work by him, if you choose to use him, I hope you have better luck than I did!

Because the V2 has been out for 12 months there is a lot of information and technical support available. It is a very good car. Here's our F104 V2 page.

The TRF101 has only just been released and not all countries have them in stock yet. It is unclear whether Tamiya will discontinue the V2. If they do then obviously the TRF101 is the way to go. The 101 looks good but it's too early to tell. Here's our TRF101 page.

Both chassis are the same width and either will fit modern F1 bodies.

Here are some links for F1 in the UK that you might find useful:

I would expect that the TRF101 having a non-moving upper arm will probably push more than the F104v2.

Many thanks for the info so far.

Is it ok to post up my TRF101 build as I do it in here?

They aren't available in the UK, the only F1 kits you will find are Tamiyas Ferrari F60, F2012 and McLaren F104 kits. F1s had a small resurgence 4 years ago when the 3Racing F109 was imported and they could be bought cheaply, but since then F1 has died off. If the Hobby Company did start importing them they would be lucky to sell a handful of them.

The only competition F1 kit available in the UK is the Speed Passion SP-1, although they have no spares available for it.

Plenty of places to get an F1 from. I personally use RCMart for most of my stuff, the only place that usually sails through customs without being charged, and Banzai Hobby for F1 stuff that isn't stocked by RCMart.

Thirdly (Sorry!) Whats the popular bet for a) A motor, and b) Servo's transmitters and receivers? If I had a budget of £250 for this am I likely to get something good?
It depends on whether you are planning on racing or not, and which races you plan to enter. If you are planning on running in the BRCA nationals at Tamworth your motor options are a BRCA legal 21.5T brushless or Mardave G2 brushed motor. If you want to take part in the RCF1 series at Stafford you will need a BRCA legal 21.5T motor. You won't need an expensive ESC with the motors used, so something like the Speed Passion Cirtix or Hobbywing Justock will do fine.

Well, I look forward to sharing my Horror stories and moments of joy on here, and keep reading and looking at the impressive stuff I have seen over the last 500 pages(!)

Welcome to the addiction. I can recommend F1paintlabs as many of us can and will. Decals, parts, kits and complete paintjobs. Plus BP is a pretty cool dude in general. He did this one up for me last Summer.

I don't know how highly I would tout his decal availability as of late.......someone is a little too worried about inventory than providing the excellent product they were once known for....

Not sure exactly what you are talking about. Everything is available and there will be many new releases coming in the next week or so. I suggest if you have a beef with me you take it up with me offline instead of airing it out on here.

Not sure that that will be the case. The 103 15th Anniversary was incredibly stiff, and it turned like there was no tomorrow. Granted that was with foams on carpet, but the stiffer front end might allow the front springs to work more properly, rumor has it that because of the way that the front is put together it is very smooth and precise.

Very uncool thing to say man! Brad does an awesome job on decals and paint, etc., and he has a business to run! You shouldn't diss him on a public forum like that. Please keep it to a private message if you think you have an issue.

Thanks for the support , I know where the negativity comes from, hes waiting for the E21 sheets which I have been trying to get finished, but turned out to be a much bigger job than expected. I have been working on them over the last few days and we are close to being done, just trying to sweat the details
