Yes, of course, you are right I mixed it with early 70's style F1 cars front suspension design such as Tyrrell 003, that car had visible front shock absorbers I was reffering to. Anyway it was just an idea, I did that while playing around with converting a TC into an F1, it stayed like that for a short time and then I installed F201 style suspension.

Keep up with the project and show us more cars of your friends

Happy to be back David!

I see things have come a long way over the years and I must say I love this Lotus 49 body Manny has come out with, and the work Ned has done!

I see Robk has found something that is Bad to the Bone! I was never a fan of the Tyrrell six wheeler but that looks fast!! LOL a whole other level from the Tamiya Ride WOW!

Ordered mine on the 26th and they are already here! Thank you for getting them out so fast. They are nicely molded and fit the rear axle hex nice and snug. Also the front wheel bearings fit snug. They feel sturdy with just enough flex to bounce back from an impact.

Can't wait to try them on the carpet tomorrow morning.

Just one problem with the Corally. It fails our single fixed nut rule. Pan car tires, 4 bolt, are not allowed at most US tracks.

Marty, most would suggest the Tamiya F104 Version 2 as it's competitive out of the box, and has the link rear suspension, and great parts availability. As far as straight axle direct drive F1 cars go, I like the new Serpent and the new TRG car, both very nice. Also, Speed Merchant just came out with a very nice F1 car that looks very promising.

If you favor an F1 car with a realistic fully independent suspension front and rear, the 3 Racing FGX is the only way to go. It's cheap, around $100, but needs the Exotek conversion and numerous hop up parts to make it competitive. It may not be as fast overall(actually not that much slower) as the straight axle pan car style F1 cars, but it is hands down the most scale realistic F1 chassis!

Marty,
It all depends on what you want to do with it . UF1, VF1, TCS all have different requirements. For UF1 I would take a hard look at the new Speed Passion car, for a tick over $200 it comes with all the goodies in the box. The 104v2 is a very capable chassis as well. If you need anything just ask,

For flat out competition runs, I'd say the Tamiya F104 v2 Pro - the limited edition (titanium) looks like it has all of the bells and whistles.

For looks and realism, I have the 3 Racing FGX, and with all of the Exotek parts it is a beautiful chassis.

My personal favorite is my OG MLP F201, but I've also taken one of my spare F201's and modernized it for width, RWD, and with updated wings/body.

It's good to see you back here~ Here's a tribute:

Thanks. I will keep my eyes open for a used one.

I do know a little about that MLP Ride!

Ditto. I chose the fgx (combined with and F104 front assembly and body) too for realism though looks flimsy that's why I upgraded the parts. I still have to try this on track yet.

Cheers. Good luck on your hunt.
