Tried to paint the inside of my car black to open up the intake scoop and it messed the paint up, so i repainted the white parts of car on the outside and sprayed a clearcoat for uniformity and to hole the decals down. looks much better, plus the intake looks black even when fully cut open. Also looks more racecar-ish
dont mind the front tires. runing those till i sort out some things and get new ones

Can we talk about rc now? It's almost the weekend. I can't wait til our series race Sunday. After months of little practice time or proper tuning, I have finally got the laps in to get dialed. Hard to tune and practice during the races! F1R is a dream car again, best it has ever been.

As the grooves wore down they actually arent that bad. Yea i dont have the huge turn in as with foams but its still faster than a 4wd touring car. I added quite a bit of ballast to the front to help them grip a bit more

Hello if your car veers to the left or right during acceleration, maybe balancing the rear pod will help.
I used 4 ball bearings on the left part of the axle next to the tire to balance it out. Or usually 15 grams on left side if plastic plate.
Blue thing on tire rim is clay. I use it to balance tires which removes a lot of pod vibration.
Just sharing.

FYI...back the white with silver or gold before you spray the black and you shouldn't have an issue in the future.

No, the shade was fine. The problem was the black peeled the while off the plastic. Leaving something that looked like crushed dried leaves of white for paint

Ah...sounds like you used the wrong type of paint or you didn't scuff the painted surface enough.

I have a couple of questions....
1. Is F1 racing in the US all rubber tire now? If so, what tires are people using and where can you get them?
2. What bodies and wings are you using and where do you get them?
3. How adjustable are the front ends of these cars? The stock Tamiya front ends do not look very adjustable. Are there companies making better front ends? Are they allowed to run together?
4. It looks like most of the racing is 2s 21.5 blinky. Is that true?
5. Are most people using shorty 2s packs or full size?
6. What is the most common minimum weight?

Can't speak for the whole country, but in the TCS, and UF1 series it is all narrow/tall rubber tires that emulate the modern F1Grand Prix cars, Most popualr brand is Shimizu, TQRC is the USA importer, and recently Tamiya USA have a Tamiya TCS branded vers of the Shimzu tires
2. What bodies and wings are you using and where do you get them?
Tamiya Bodies and wings are the most popular, 3Racing have a bodyset for their FGX also, bodysets are available at TQRC, Speedtech, and many dealer, distributors wordwide
3. How adjustable are the front ends of these cars? The stock Tamiya front ends do not look very adjustable. Are there companies making better front ends? Are they allowed to run together?
The F-104 front end has camber and RC adjustment, Exotec has a front end hop-up that allows caster change. As F1 is still growing the rules regarding chassis are still up for discussion. Kingpin Front with DD rear has been the mainstay for the last 25+yrs, and would do well to keep things simple

Shorty packs are becoming more popular, some racers still prefer standard packs on low grip surfaces
6. What is the most common minimum weight?
There is no weight limit in TCS, or UF1, I believe ROAR & IIC came up with something arbitrary like 1150g?
