They released the F104WGP because thats what popular in Japan and Asia. 200mm + foams, and perhaps they are cleaning out their inventory to be ready for F105

No idea about the part number but the cross and trg standard wing are readily available and just as high down force if not more! The trg advance is great too!

F104X1 Pro?
I think it's safe to say that when an item is discontinued by Tamiya... your bound to see something follow (especially given the increase in the F1 sales).

They've released/announced some interesting new items as of late... I betting it will be good!

Hey Racing4Evo, the 2012 Champion of the F1 at the ROAR Carpet Nationals last weekend raced a Tamiya F104X1. You can watch his A-Main race in this video --> Formula One A-Main Race at 2012 ROAR Carpet Nationals.

If you read the article that he wrote about the Tamiya F104X1 you can see the base setup that he used. He also gives good tips on how to tune the car as well.

I would love to see some decals from you other than what Decal Island has allready. Minardi,Simteck,Benetton B186,Larrousse LH94 and others from around the same time period are nice looking cars. Even the Andrea Moda looked sort of cool when it only had the Andrea on it even though it was an awful car.
Just some thoughts.

All in due time, I have the Benetton B188/189 about 90% done, the Buzzin Hornets Jordan about the same, and the Renault R30 and Benetton B192
There will be lots of stuff coming out very soon as I am taking the printing in house

I will LMAO, if they release an IRS car , though I can't see them changing the platform just yet.

Well they did release a 4wd fully independent suspension car that no one expected back in the F201 days...I would hope they see how popular the FGX has become in such a short time and head in that direction. I won't hold my breath that they will...but it is possible

I was hoping for something different, all of these i can buy now, just the B188s are expensive as the Tamiya decals command a higher price being harder to find.

Unfortunately, Tamiya Japan's priority is the Japan market and the rest of the world is just another area to sell whatever they decide to sell. Japan right now is big on 200mm foam tire F1 cars. And surprise, the F104W GP 200mm car comes out. Great for Japan, not so great for US market where many areas are limiting to 190mm so that old F103's can't keep killing the competition. Hopefully the F104 does not go the way of the F201 once Japan lost interest in that car. Guess I might just hold onto my couple of F103's and parts just in case.

In the east the 200mm foams reign supreme! Also here in the UK because of the f109.
Same in Europe..

So actually it's the US marching it's own march again with the 180mm cars and wonder why no one else follows.
