That car with the LA lowrider look is what you would typically find on the current 1/10 touring cars.

By judging paint schemes like that as the winner it sends the message that anything goes in F1 liveries. Won't be long before we see flames and skulls and neon green wheels, etc.
ROAR = Really?-Only-At-ROAR
Nah, I have no clue what goes on at ROAR.
At least they are gettin guys out there and racing F1s at a high level.

Supp CUDA

Judging Concourse is always subjective
But for F1 it should at least look like an F1
Not sure who is in charge of judging there, roar affiliate, or locals ?
Purple-PiMped out open-wheel car....meh

Kinda puts a.dent in the while f1 is supposed to be a scale class doesn't it? I think that that paint should be allowed to run at any level but a car that resembles a true f1 car should have won the concours. I guess the most important factor is how it was judged? If it was a racers pick then great. The most popular paint won. If it was a panel of judges then they need new judges that actually know f1 cars

No arguing that it is a very nice paint job though.

I think people who don't attend an event should have a say in anything about the event. New judges?? LOL All of the "realistic" looking F1's are two tone paint jobs with decals all over it... The guy who won put more work into his than anyone else, did you see the detail?

I know it's a subjective thing, but a lot of fancy airbrush fades don't impress most F1 fans. A highly detailed body based on a real paint scheme tends to be appreciated more. I'm sure that the winner put a lot of effort into his body, but F1 is not the current state of touring cars.

I didn't have a say. Where was my vote counted? A guy who builds a $75000 custom 1964 impalla decked out with all of the chrome money can buy and a nice polished 671 blower full air brushed custom paint a full tuned exhaust and a 9 second quarter mile wouldn't have a prayer at winning a concours event. A best of show sure but not concours anywhere. Regardless of how much time and effort went into it. Maybe the award should be best of show as apparently the meaning of concours is lost in the rc world.

Marios' car always look very nice, Pimped out and all.
In any other class that paint would only receive the highest praise.

What's the difference between this:

and this:

Both look like they got a little overspray in the white part of their paint schemes.

Not my cup of tea, but to each their own.

I'm sure if you looked at the Purple car up close you would see all the detail he put into it

The Blue Tribal, not so much

Other then the fade I am not sure you could say that car has a paint job you could not see on a real F1.

If HRT would have just added some fading to their 2012 car it would not be much different.

That was my point, you're judging from a 3/4 photo...you weren't there to see them in person so you have no idea what you're talking about.

Even from 3/4 photo, still not what I call a good cup of tea.

Why soo sensitive eh? The internet is full of keyboard judges!

I wouldn't really call the HRT a "real" F1 car, lol

Looks like the difference is mainly the stickers on the black only wings.
Hardly anything like a Ridler award winner. And concourse? C'mon man.
What did the Touring Car winner look like?

For F1 concourse, might wanna take a close look at the Lotus cars. Drivers, wings, wheels, tires, etc.
Pretty nicely detailed.
