I would guess you could lock folks into whatever gearing/tires they used for the hot lap. Or average out their top three laps?

Might be fun to try one weekend at a club race.

Another problem is what to do with heats. The slow guys (who need the most track time) would be shut out after 1st q.round.
would love to see something like this happen in our neck of the woods...I'm been asking Sharpie off & on for a while now about trying something like this..

it would all break down to getting enough guys to do it at jackson and make it an F1-only event 15-20 guys would be a nice turnout - with maybe a 15-20 car main fastest times up front of the pack, slower cars in the rear and make it a 10-15 minute main, with the potiential mandatory pass thru pitlane

now that would be sweet

How about just a pole shootout? Something like this: Run all qualifiers as per usual. Take the top 5 qualifiers Have one final 3 minute shootout for pole -- fastest lap takes the top spot. If you do it only in F1, it could be done just before the mains. As long as the F1 main is 15 minutes into the event, the top 5 would have a chance to recharge, etc.

We could try it at Road Mods.

Between the bunch of us there are enough great ideas to make this event awesome. However, we need marshals. It'd be great to have an F1 only event, but the reality is that there aren't enough of us. The easy way to ensure attendance is to have a bunch of classes that all entrants would enjoy, but then everyone is racing and there's limited marshals. So the challenge with his type of event is to offer classes that don't share racers, a tall order with such limited attendance outside the traditional TC classes.

Rest assured, plans are in motion!

MikeR-

On your F10, are those foams on the inside of cut out rubber side walls? Interesting.

Default F103 Rubber wanted :)

Hey Guys,

If you have front and rear scale rubber F103 tiers i'm looking for a set. Must be good looking slicks. It's OK if they are useless on the track, I just need them for display purposes.

email or PM me...

Cheers!
Marcos

Hi all. I decided it was time to stop lurking and join up. Plus I wanted to show off my newest addition, an F104 Pro. Next to it are my F201 and F103 Anniversary. I can't wait to get some electronics in the 104 so I can try it out, but thats gonna take a while.

I read on another forum that F-104 rubber is the only F-1 class for the TCS Nationals this year. Has anyone else heard this ??

Well,if it's true...was bound to happen sooner or later.
How long do you carry a class for a discontinued car?

Still proud to rock the 103 here.

Tamiya could make everyone happy by having rules that equalize F103 and F104 performance (e.g. maybe heavier weight limit for F103). That way F103 would not just be a 1 year racing chassis. And more racers can join F1 races.

F103 not totally discontinued with Tamiya's new hybrid Wolf chassis. Wonder if this chassis will be allowed to race in 2010 or 2011.

mass damper, automatic disqualification now thanks. Haha, yes, mini damper articulated mounts. Had to put them on because the HPI is a bit nose heavy and would porpoise on straightaways before I put them on.

What do you guys think about running a minimum weight rule in f1?

Now that I have three different f1 cars I was pondering on what cars have advantages and why.

I can get my 103 down below 900 with a light or mini lipo. As I sit here and build the 109 I can see it's a bit on the heavy side but the rear suspension setup is VERY slick.
My 104 (with the 103 front/ and rear tires) is right around 980 and I feel the t-bar setup on the 104 is better than the 103 (to me the car is more consistent).
So do you all think that setting a minimum weight at say 975 would help the class? Or do you think that light weight vrs advanced suspension evens things out? Or maybe a better way to put it would be..Do you guys think tanking up a 103/104 would give the 109 style cars a large advantage.
I don't think this would matter with 17.5 ect but more with silvercan cars.

Not trying to stir things up here just want to know what your thought are.
