On the advice of another player, I used 30k oil in the roll shocks (because I hadn't put any oil in them whenever I built the car). Center shock is 500cst with stock spring.
How do I get more on power steering? Or just steering in general?
Thanks!

Ps: is there a f1 tuning guide I can refer to, so that i can learn the basics of f1 tuning?

Default thanks for the setup assistance!

Thanks for the info guys! I really appreciate it.

I've just been trying out harder side springs to curb a rear stepping out issue (doesn't want to return to centre after a turn) and am looking ofr more steering . Possibly with softer springs. Thanks again.

I do have a question about chassis flex in F1 cars. The roche has a servo mount that "floats" from the front (screws tie it down to the front of the car) but there is a place near the rear where a 1mm spacer can be inserted and this allows the rear of the servo mount to be screwed to the chassis. What effect will this bring? I tried it but i can't tell the difference. Perhaps cos the rest of the car are not optimised.

Most of the F1's have similar mounting. I found that attaching the extra screw to tie the servo mount to the chassis makes it more aggressive all around.

Any luck with these on crc black carpet? I see TQ RC Racing now has them in stock. However, they only carry the carpet version (compound) for the rear not front.

What seems to be the best tire combo for low grip asphalt? I've only been on carpet so this is completely new to me.

We race on untreated asphalt in Easley, SC. I've tried just about everything (Pit Shimizu 571/572/574/575, TCS, CRC, WRC P-One, etc).

I own the track record in F1 using the CRC's. They just work. I know people say that they are the same as the 571/572 but I've tried them back to back and the CRC's are faster. Might be the rims, or who knows.

No sauce, just clean and go.

Hope this helps,

Mark

Does anyone know of a shop that sells 2017 style:
- body with fin
- barge boards
- mirrors
- rear fin hanger
- tv cameras
- antenna arrays

I doubt anyone here would remember my VTA concourse car from the 2010 Nationals in Winthrop Harbor, but I'm trying something similar (over-the-top) with an F1 car this time.

The best way to do all that is get a 3D printer and print all the add-ons. I am pretty sure that is what Wizard Lo did with his concourse F1 winner from this yesr’s scsle nationals at WCRC.

Has anyone converted a F103, or in my case a F109, into a 200mm pan car? I'm imagining it would at the least require a different axle to fit pan car wheel hubs to run foam tyres, but wondering if there would be a lot of other stuff to change?

Done that with my F109. I have custom made hubs for foams, but I run it on F104 rubber with some shimming. Despite that and new lower deck made of GF no other big changes. It is fun car that my girlfriend was running occasionally so it was more focused for easy driving than high performance. Even side dampener was left from F109, I would change that for Tamiya friction tube for more serious racing..

Ok, stupid question but when setting up the F104 front end, do you add the spacers, set ride height, spring etc then tighten set screw on kingpin or do you center the kingpin first?

I believe many don't use a set screw on the kingpin, as leaving it floating allows you to use shims to set droop as well as ride height.
