Well, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....

When I drawn this body, my first target was drag reduction.
You can see here the whole process.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y30r...ature=youtu.be

I went trough some prototyping to check the CAD and what my (limited) CFD resources told me.

I could have "easily" made a look-a-like F1, but then... I'd have got just a "look-a-like" F1...

Nothing "personal" I mean... So I prefere to make "my" F1.

I'd have loved go toward a more inspired Brabham BT55 rendition, in order to have the most clean air toward the rear wing....

But, even in a smaller scale, I found the things to be more complex...

The 2015 cars were still prettier in my eyes than the Fenix thing. But you are right F1 is not getting more beautiful right now.
At least everybody can drive what he wants and there are still some small manufacturers of 90s bodies around. Although the price tag is too high in the end to drive it regularly (body from asia and sticker set from US plus customs sums up for me ).

@Giorgio: No offense. I understand that there are two poles function and replica. Competition is on your mind and racers gonna love your body for ETS and other events.

Well, WTCC, don't want you to change your mind, but check Newey's March from 88...

No problem on my side... is the long debate of life.. Blonde or Brunette? ;-)

No need to argue. You missed the proportions, that is why it is ugly in MY eyes.

But as I said before: performance and beauty are very hard to combine in our hobby, so no need to feel insulted from my side

Wtcc, don't worry I'm super easy on this. Life is a matter of personal preferences...
Blonde or Brunette... And I found the proportion of both perfectly suited to me... ;-)

Ahhh I see it now, definitely, now the scoop makes sense. Personally though, I would have pinched the side pods lower toward the rear. And either increased the slope of the nose, or narrowed it for a sharper leading point. That was the Beauty of Newey's design. It was incredibly narrow and tight, creating a minimally offensive aero front.
Your interpretation is inspiring. Keep progressing!

Thanks Simple.
I could have narrowed a bit the rear portion, but not to much, as I dont'want to make something narrow that force the people to cut the body for fitting.

if you look the "making of".. .in the begin the upper line was very much like the Benetton B187, 1987, with a lot of clear air for the rear wing.

I couldn't go tha low with the nose, due the front suspension (think at TRF101 for instance)

Honestly... if I have to choose toward a "generic" f1 like... I'd have choose GP2 shape, at least for the nose area, way more elegant than actual F1...
