I am excited, too! Even though I like the sound of a high revving natural aspirated engine, I wished for an electric F1 style series a long time. Looking forward to the first race in Beijing. Just one thing makes no sense: they cut the power for the race The better and more realistic (for the customer of electric cars, because loading the battery on a trip sucks) way would have been a battery change in the race... Can't have it all

Unfortunately so many are bashing e-cars, but never drove one.

Format: they race approximately 1 hour with a mandatory car change once during the race. Each driver is allotted 2 cars per race. Now there is a battery swap!

Formula E looks like an f1 car with touring car wheels. Kinda like a hybrid between open wheel and prototype.

I would call it a car swap xD
And it makes as much sense as us changing between two rc f1 cars because our Lipo needs charging...

Hopefully they will correct the car swap in Formula E if it becomes an issue. It should be the chassis and driver that start should finish the same event. I'll be watching the races just out of curiosity.

Formula E = XFL

Great idea in theory, too drastic for it to live on.

Is that a F1R2 chassis or a F104v2 flex?

When using pit tires(stock foams) on indoor carpet, would you ever consider rotating tires for even wear?

Thanks

Cadman,

That looks like some sort of pullrod suspension. Very interesting...
Mike, do you have a release date yet?

This is a F1R2 during testing stages before it was released.

I heard the Solaris tires are basically relabeled Sweep tires.

Can anyone confirm?

I've been following this thread for quite some time as I get ready to dip my toes into the F1 waters. I've decided on the Tamiya F104 v2, so if anyone has one they are looking at parting with, please let me know. The For Sale forum here is surprisingly barren, for once.
