The problem is the tires heat up and pick up the crap most likely. Are you coming up with brownish rags after you clean the tires vs. a black color- like rubber?

If the track is dirty not much of anything will help. This may sound ridiculous, but what if you put old carpet in one corner to clean the tires every lap...?

Sounds like you may be using too much juice on the track. Do you dilute the fruit punch concentrate at all? We use a cheap pancake syrup at the Tamiya track. Depending on whether or not it rained from one week to another, we only use 1/3 of a gallon (if it didn't rain) to 1/2 gallon (if it did) mixed in 2-3 gallons of water for the whole track. We blow as much dirt/dust/pollen off the track with a couple of leaf blowers before we spray each week.
The only time I recall having buildup on the tires at Tamiya and elsewhere is when we go out on the track before the spray gets to dry completely and the syrup sticks to the tires and then the tires pick up dirt like a dog turd rolled in sand Stuff is hard to clean off the tires too.
I know the Road Runners club track in Camarillo is in the middle of farm fields and next to their off road track. They also have a huge dirt problem on their on road track. They actually wash the track off and let it dry before spraying on their race weekends. Hope this helps a bit looking at the problem from another angle.

We have to use 4 gallons of strawberry punch syrup mixed 1 gallon syrup with 4 gallons of water. The seal coat on our track is wearing off so the asphalt absorbs a lot of the mixture.

When they spray it, it's like a gallon of fruit punch to 13 gallons of water. The build up on my tires is definitely dirt, and it sticks when the tires warm up. The sedan tires pick up black stuff, but it doesn't hurt the lap times, and they don't look like that.

Compared to Tamiya, it's definitely over sprayed.

Camarillo is dusty, but not like Fresno. I've raced oval there (Roadrunners) a couple if times, the growers keep the soil there pretty moist for the vegetable crops they farm there. Most of the dust there is from traffic on the dirt road north of the track. Fresno has lots of orchard and vineyard crops where there is a ton of dry soil between the rows, and even in the middle of town, it's dusty all the time unless it rains.

It's an FGX lower chassis. The theory is to make it into a belt drive.

Yes, sir.its like the combination of 3Racing Fgx for the rear and F104 assembly at the front. I integrated the side pod platforms to the main chassis instead having it on the body. I'll see the handling once the build is done.

I'd like to see one with the 3Racing rear and the Speed Passion front since that has more width adjustments you should be able to get it close to the 3Racing's front width. Also it has better ride height adjustment than the F104.

Hi guys, i want to get a F1 car, have been researching for days but cant make a choice.

I want to get a good car from the start.
Whats the best kit in terms handling, durability, how easy is the car to work in, easiest one to change the battery?

I like these the most:
Serpent F110
3 Racing F113
FGX with Exotek conversion
VBC Lightnigng F1



I know the VBC, F110 and F113 come really nice out of the box but for the same price i can buy the FGX with the conversion that looks way better and maybe have better performance because of the double rear suspension.

I would like to know your thoughts about them, thanks!

You should take a look at the SpeedPassion SP-1. It comes with all the hopups that you end up buying for the other cars for a lot less price. Handles very well out of the box.

You also need to consider how you will be using it...if just driving around in parking lots and stuff any of them are fine choices. But if you plan to race it you need to know what rules your local club is using. The F113 is a 200mm wide F1 that runs foam tires and would not be legal in most racing in the US.

Hi and good morning. I am about to take a look at that. I believe Speed Passion front end will fit since they both (F104 & Speed Passion's) have the same blue-print. I'll verify this.

I am running the hybrid- 3Racing FGX read and Tamiya F104 front and it is all satisfying especially the handling and realism but I find it's speed a bit slow compared to F104's (and the likes) rear system. That is why I am considering to try the belt with this.

With that chassis, I also want to achieve a more stable run with the integrated sidepod platform. I don't know if it'll have a huge effect but having said that, I think it'll be more consistent.

I am now about to research if the Speed Passion front will fit.
