If the Exotek arms are set to the same as the F104 arms it make absolutely no difference to performance.
What it does do is allow you to adjust caster and camber to tune the handling, it's just another tuning aid.

If you want to carry more corner speed you can reduce ackermann by mounting the servo vertically, but it does make the steering less consistent.

Here are pictures of my VF1 car...a 1968 Gold Leaf Lotus 49.

I got the body from Big Al, you may recognize it from pictures posted on this thread previously. I then made the following changes and enhancements: re-worked the upper rear suspension arms and rear anti-rollbar. Added lower rear suspension arms and tailpipes and mounting brackets, plus period correct side mirrors. Then I painted the helmet in Jim Clark's colors and changed the car number to 6.

The body is mounted to a stock F104 chassis and I used F103RM front suspension and wrapped it with chrome monokote. The wheels and tires are HPI VTA.

I hope to run it very soon. I hope you all enjoy the pictures!

Can only add 5 pictures at a time. will add more after this.

For those who like the step nose body there will be an alternative before they disappear for good this winter, the Blitz F101. Unusually the drivers helmet is moulded into the body and it's a bit slab sided.

Hey guys,

I'm about to buy some of the rubber tires for my F104.
Can someone explain where the difference is between these tires?

Tamiya 51399 rubber tires front F104
and
Tamiya 54198 ruber tires front HARD F104

Tamiya 51400 rubber tires rear F104
and
Tamiya 51199 rubber tires rear SOFT F104

Is suppose the tires without the marking "HARD" or "SOFT" can be seen as medium?

What tires would you choose to run on high grip indoor carpet?

Thanks a lot in advance!

These tires are recommended.

And these are used sometimes also.

Thanks for the advice, edhchoe, but Shimizu tires are hard to get here in Germany.
I'm able to choose between Ride and Tamiya, but the Ride tires don't work on that track.

A friend of mine got the Tamiya rear soft and the front hard tires on his Serpent F110 but he's struggling with too much grip at the front.
So I thought maybe the tamiya tires without "SOFT" or "HARD" in their description could be medium ones to avoid that much grip on the front.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't (at least some) Tamiya tires re-branded Pit tires?
