You want something more along the lines of a plastic model paint or general surface paint. Simple can of Krylon will do the trick.

Default yokomo yrf-001n

Just finished my yokomo front end. I like that it is different from the 104 spring and king pin. This is a quality kit, looking forward to building the rear end tomorrow. It came with the wide suspension as well.1/10 R/C F1's...Pics, Discussions, Whatever...-20130606_225104.jpg

I've been using Tamiya TS light gunmetal spray paint with very good results. It's very durable and sticks well on the exotek wheels.

I've just finished the build of the SP1 F1 from speed passion , with a Red bull decals from f1 paintlabs (Thks Brad) on a f2012 body.
I didn't use the F2012 wings in purpose cause of the bad returns on them.

I know this has probably been asked before but I searched and couldn't find an answer. What color wings are supplied with the Tamiya Ferrari 2012 body set?

I used Tamiya TS to paint my wheels gold for my 2012 Lotus. It has held up great and never flaked off.

I haven't tried to paint the Exotek wheels yet. I think they have some nylon in them, so not sure how or if paint will stick to them. You will want to clean them really well with a good solvent to prep them

Please do not flame me for posting here. I just bought a Tamiya Lotus 79 and a McAllister Indycar body. The LHS has a small road course. A few guys have F1 cars. I am thinking of occasionally running my car. So far I have not seen any rules, but they run rubber tires and silver can motors, it is a small track and 540Js are more than adequate.

I wanted to ask the Lotus and Indycar bodies are for wide chassis configurations. Does the additional width come from offset in the rear wheels or the axle/diff. If it is the diff, then is there a metal diff upgrade to the wider configuration?

I have also shopped for a true oil damper to replace the spring damper and noticed there appear to be some longer than others. What are the best aftermarket options for rear dampers?

Eventually, I want to get a "true" narrow F1 car, but I could not wait for the car of my dreams to be release in a few weeks.

Thanks

The width of the F104W comes from the use of the F103 front end and use of F103 wheels.

As for an aluminum diff assembly - check this part out: Alum diff housing.
For dampers check out: TRF Special damper. roll damper
