So on the topic of detailing front and rear wings... Is it better to just cut and cover in vinyl?

Or is it better to sand, apply plastic paint, and clearcoat spray? Would it hold up to the abuse of racing?

Here's their website
http://www.rivallshop.com/en/category/products/

Body 49.95 = $64.35
Rear wing 14.90 = $19.20
Total $83.55, not including postage.

Buying outside the EU you should not be liable for the VAT, but they still aren't cheap.

If you are interested in LMP shells there's a thread about them here. As for what generally available try this post, but the only one designed to fit a narrow F104 is the ABC Response posted earlier.

Maybe once F1 participation gets to respectable levels, a class using LMP bodies can be the next big thing with F1 chassis cars.

I'd love to race something like the F103GT. I guess I'll run WGT until then.

I love watching the Prototypes race during the LeMans races. I am really impressed with the Audi diesel prototypes and the low-end power that they possess. If the bodies would also stay in stock (they sell out quick when distributors get them), I would be down for some LMP racing!

Definately vinyl if you can. I painted my 104Pro wings, thinking it would be too hard to get vinyl in all the curves and angles of the front wing. End plates on the front were chipped and falling off in 2 race meets. Rear wing is still holding up quite well though.

Second body, I went vinyl for the rear, and picked a scheme that didn't need the front painting at all. Just some decals.

Traut Engineering (I believe that's their name) makes pre-cut vinyl for Tamiya F1 wings, and maybe others.

For those talking about the Rivall body, don't forget that SpeedPassion's LMP body is due out in the next couple of months and MIGHT be 200mm.........or maybe wider. I don't think it's going to be 190 or 180.
Also, if you can find one, Tamiya makes a GORGEOUS (and much less expensive than the Rivall) LMP that looks very much like LMPC cars and many P1 and P2 cars as well.

The Tamiya body is gorgeous, and it is the exact car used in the LMPC class. I have one I painted up like an Audi a few years ago without ever having a car to put it on! Nice shelf queen, but i wish i was better at painting when i did it! I love these cars though, so I bet there is one in my future eventually!

Not quite the LMPC car, if it's the Tamiya Courage C70 body you mean. The FLM09 is based off the C75 which is a LMP2 chassis. The C70 is an LMP1 body, and a nice one at that.

I'd like to see more LMP bodies for F1 chassis, the main thing putting me off buying any of the current F1's is the fact that I hate the way any of the newer F1 cars look. I'd much rather have a prototype body to go on there instead. Someone needs to make a Toyota TS030 body, I'd buy that so hard I'd break my mouse.

Thanks guys for the info on the wings. Guess I'll take my time trimming and cutting it out to fit properly.
