So this is to anyone who painted their VF1 car as Jim Clark's Lotus 49......which green paint did you use? I want to have mine airbrushed, but not sure which shade of green to use. I would think that Tamiya would have a shade that is close to "Lotus green".

Also, to the guys who are working on the hub adapters that allow the use of the HPI VTA wheels and tires.......what is the status on that?

Default So I was wrong!

I must say that the VF1 F160 body looks better with the standard F104 type wheels & tires on it. I did get mine in today. Now if we can get someone or one of them to make the rain tires then I think it would be perfect!

So I was Wrong, Sorry. Next to see how they work here outside! testing will tell.

But I am still moving forward with the hub adapters.

Tamiya PS-9 Green or Tamiya PS-22 Racing Green comes close. Looks like PS-9 is the darker green.

Thank you vabroom for the help with the paint color. I may go with the PS-9 green since it's darker.

Marty, I don't happen to think you were wrong the first time about the wheels and tires. I still maintain that the HPI VTA wheels and tires look better on the VF1 cars than the standard Tamiya F104 wheels and tires.....sorry.

So myself and my friends are still interested in the hub adapters for the HPI wheels.

Team Lotus,
I am thinking that using FGX front hubs/axles/hexes are easiest for the front and F103GT rear adapters for the rear to have the 12mm hex wheels fit.
I know that I'm in the minority, but I want to convert my CRC pan car to VTA wheels and keep it 200mm!

Now please remember these are back from the first drawing or mockup, So now if we can get a STL file going that looks more like these.

Thanks

I ordered(Rcmart) the 3racing Gt rear axle parts, and Tamiya T-parts (#51229) for the F103GT this should hopefully easily make it possible to run the HPI wheels.

Did someone say more pics?

Here is my collection of F1 cars. There is one for my dad, me, and me 2 kids

- From the left, an original F103 with a Ferrari F310b body from 1997 (my dad's)
- My F103, with tons of mods and hop ups, it's the Tamiya F-type body, which
is the F1-2000 Ferrari, and tamiya original stickers for the F1-2001.
- My youngest son's 3Racing F109 with the F1-2001 body from a F201, bought it when he was born
- My oldest son's F104 Ferrari F-60, bought when he was born

And my latest project for the race this weekend

Ferrari F138 colors, but on a F-60 body, i still need to modify the rear wing to better match the shape of the F-138.

On the F104v2 Black edition, but with blue motor mount because no one has black parts in stock...

And the car its based on
