the helmets were not as easy as I had thought they would be... but not too bad...they'll look better with the visors on..the ink ran on KIMI....
When I did a 2012 Lotus the Kimi helmet was easier to do by cutting vinyl. An old Ferrari set had an "Iceman" logo on it, then build up black and red stickers on a white base. The F1 Paintlab sticker set had a Lotus visor that worked a treat. Any shiny black or chrome would work if you didn't have that.

Hope that helps,
Mark

I'm hoping Brad is on the cusp of finishing those sheets off, he has been including the visors on the sheets, I didn't do the "Burn" decals counting on that fact, I knew that Kimi's helmet was going to be tougher due to the large amount of black on the helmet, the 7's wouldn't cooperate when I re-sized them, so I cheated and used Sharpie, then got overzealous when applying the clear and ran the ink, as well as the whole can has come out semi gloss on everything else I have shot with it and all of a sudden it came out glossy....it should be semi-gloss, the Grosjean helmet really looks pretty good in person, my camera picks up every little blemish on something....

The Grojean helmet should be used as a penalty for the worst hack at the track! LOL

Damn Marty that is an old pic.
The MLP 201 was a sweet driving car even if it was sacrilegious....

Would love a newer bodied car in the Orange livery.

Yeah I did these back in 2004-5 and forgot I had them.

Told ya I was working on this same stuff before.

Well sorry to hear that Ned you started this and I would like you to stay.

One of many examples why Grosjean is a hack. I don't deny he is talented, but sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.

On the 2nd video, pay close attention at about the 1:35 mark where Grosjean vaults over Alonzo's nose.

This is to Ned, or wtcc, Marty, Lightfoot, or anyone who has painted and decaled their Lotus 49 vintage F1 body: What size did you do the white circle for the car number? I'm looking at having them made at 1.28" diameter. Is that the right size? I'm looking for the white circle size.

I had numbers printed up for the VF1 class... I don't have it in front of me but I believe they are just under 2 inches...

This is what it looks like...

Well I understand your point, I also have been following F1 from the late 70's and yes he has been in wrecks, never the less he is sitting in that F1 Ride! Thats one hell of a accomplishment.
One can go back in time and see that most of the greats started out that way, I think he gets in over his head at times, but I do see a talent that one can not learn or skill, of anything comes from time spent doing something over and over again. testing is what made the greats GREAT

Lotus, Looking at it again, my numbers are a bit on the small side at 1.5" dia.
Take a look at the pics of the cars and just scale them so they look right to you.
Here's a neat chart Lightfoot put on the Vintage F1 forum and you can see most of the meatballs (white circles) go pretty much the height of the body. Some are even flattened on the top and bottom.
