Thank you very much for all the compliments and the part numbers!!!

Of course I will race this body. I am not shelving anything. Would be a waste to hide this beauty in a room

The engine is no sorcery at all!

1. Find a good picture with colour details and paint it like this. Manny did a very good job here as you find similar shapes on the engine cover:

I used black and silver for the upper engine parts and gun metal and white for the side parts with the exhausts. It takes a lot of time to mask the shape where the intake trumpets will be later. Make these shapes silver. The rest of this section has to be black. If you paint it black from the outside you can use matte colour for a more realistic look.
I painted the exhausts white with a brush. This is again easy as Manny did a fantastic job and you can paint it with the brush by following the shape. I broke the white with some black to make it look a little dirty. For full effect search for a good picture on Google and paint some areas a little darker. The last step is to paint the rest of this part in gun metal. Black would be to dark and silver looked to bright in my eyes.

2. For the intake trumpets go to a 1$ store and buy 8 pens. This one in the picture would be the pen of your choice as it is a direct fit and chrome!

After you twisted off the tip take some ShoeGoo and glue the tip on your enginge cover. Don't worry the ShoeGoo sticks very good (I was surprised myself).

Now I need your help again. I wanted to put rubber tires on my F104v2, but they don't fit. I bought Ride F104 wheels and they rub on the pin (see pictures in compatison to the larger Tamiya foam wheel). How can I solve the problem without getting more ride height?

You should be able to get around 4mm ride height shimming is so that the rim fits over the suspension.

Thanks. I could only manage 5mm, but I think this will be OK for outdoor.

@evochick: Looks very good! Very clean work of art!

As I have still holidays I adapt the F160 body to my F104v2 today. The motor section is tight, but fits. If the pod is moving on track the pinion can touch the exhaust body part and take away some paint. I wish the pod would be more slim...
Nevertheless the car looks very good, even though I use the normal F1 slick tires:

PS: Kimi in this car just looks hilarious wrong xD

WOW!

very nice!

I have mine in the mail.....

I feel like every car is green, I guess that is due to the original car beeing green, but as someone stated we can not all drive green cars come raceday....

are there any color photos of other color schemes ?

Thanks!

The body can also be another car from that era:

As Lotus I only know three schemes: the original green, the Golden Leaf Lotus and this blue ones:

http://www.racingmodels.com/ekmps/sh...-18-4623-p.jpg

And don't be afraid it will be to many green ones... on track mine is going to be the only one (as I am maybe the only guy in Germany owning a F160 body). You are maybe in the same position. So don't care about us.

They are out of stock at the moment, but they emailed me to say they should be back in stock in 10-14 days.
Got it! A shop in Germany surprisingly has them in stock

Hi,

I am the guy who ordered the other 4 bodies. Unfortunately, they have not arrived yet.
WTCC, which shop did have these mirrors in stock. I found only one but it wasn't a real online shop.

Where are you located in Germany? We are from Chemnitz.

I like that pic, nothing wrong with a little poke at kimi, plus he knows what he's doing.

I think I will try to do the Honda RA300
