1/10 R/C F1's...Pics, Discussions, Whatever...

We are only allowed to use Tamiya/TCS parts at our track. So, I may be fighting a losing battle with this particular F1 chassis and tires. The solution would likely be a standard F104 with TCS tires. However, those just aren't the WOLF!!!

There's a couple of options for wheels - 1)RIDE wheels and 2)Tamiya F103 wheels. I purchased mine both from TQRacing:RIDE wheels and Tamiya wheels. You will need fronts and rears if you go with the RIDE wheels.
The RIDE wheels glue on just like any other wheel set. The beads on the Pit Shimizu lay flat on the barrel of the rims.
The Tamiya wheel set - I had to drill vent holes on the barrels before I glued them together with the tires. I glue the inside beads first, flush to the rim with thin CA tire glue. Once dry - do the other side and install the wheels faces.
HTH
Can you use the Tamiya HBR sponge tires ? I have a set of those too and it provides a real neutral handling on the 104WGP. Another thing you might want to look into, a softer rear t-bar. When I had my non-GP version 104W, I could only get it to handle anything more than a silvercan was with a TRF damper and a high traction t-bar set to a loose center screw.

We can't use sponge. Only Rubber. So, its Tamiya rubber tires or TCS rubber tires. Tamiya doesn't make TCS replacements for my tires. Like I say, I may just have to run it like it is. I'm not a super competitive guy. Just happy to see it out there running laps.

I wish I could paint. Every time I go to the track with a new body people say things like "Ohhhh, was anyone else hurt in that crash?" or "Poor guy, maybe we should take up a collection for him or buy him a pack of stickers"

I mount the tire and apply the CA and squeeze and release the tire all around evenly and quickly to spread the adhesive via capillary action. And squeeze and hold for 10 sec to set while blowing on it.
The hole can be any where as long as air can move in and out freely but somewhere down the center line would be most effective.
