This will help them to stay on but by no means is it permanent
BP's wheel decals go on nicely and I've not had any come off yet.

The f1paintlab decals stick much better than tamiya kit ones.

+1

This one is on my runner wheel set and stays on really well:

(Actually ALL decals from F1paintlab stay on well - I've never had an issue with any of them)

I do prep the sidewalls before application by cleaning it well and applying some heat to the decal after it gets applied. The heating seems to help the edges stick better and creates a mild shrinking effect. I also try to cut it as close as possible to the printed area.

Haven't seen a F201 in a long time...let alone a F201 that still runs the fiberglass front sway bar

Hi,
I just got a NIB Kyosho KF01 kit and I would like any info on setups and any needed options. I will be running/racing on asphalt (medium traction). Also what is the recommended nitro levels for the kit 0.9 motor?
Thanks,

It's on there for moral "support"
I removed the screws and o-rings quite some time back.

Gadget, who was the guy that made that amazing nitro f1 prototype a few years back...the same guy that made the alloy arms for the f201.

There is a championship "NFO" in Japan that races these cars. Check out the Kyosho Japan website and search for "kf01". There are some links to the YouTube video's. Also Bonzai hobby has more info on the car.

I ran my F1R tonight for the first time. It was on carpet with a silvercan. The car was pushing a little when I sauced 1/3 on the front tires. With 1/2 sauced on the fr, the handling was very good. I had the diff at 1/4 turn from tight and I could hear it slip so I guess it needs to be even tighter.

I was using 93T spur and 31 pinion and it reached top speed 1/2 thru the straight way.
I will be putting a 21.5 BL soon. Is this set up also a good starting point for 21.5?

It is interesting how different f104 is compared to fgx in terms of drive feel. I enjoy them both a lot.

If so, are the Tamiya acrylic paints suitable for the job ?

Cheers.

Hi Alan,

Painting from the outside of the shell works. I actually prefer the matt look it gives the driver figure, as racing suits aren't meant to be gloss

Best to use paints meant for lexan as they will flex. Anything else might flake off in a shunt. I've also used permanent markers (like Sharpies) as an alternative.

Hope that helps
Mark
