Hey guys, I bought an HPI FX10 and it came with a F60 body and a exotek mini lipo pack brace. I tried to see if the body would fit a "shorty" style pack but the body was too narrow. Is it possible to un screw that rear section of the F60 body and make that lower rear section wider? Or would I have to trim the body to fit the shorty pack?

Pick up the Tamiya MP4-24 body set for the F104, part number 51430. The F109 is a long wheelbase chassis so matches anything for the F104 and most modern bodies are designed for it. F103 bodies can fit but as the F103 is 20mm shorter you end up with a lot more hanging out the rear of the body.

So, I own 2x FGX chassis : 1 x stock with ifs + 1 x EFX with std front end.
Looking to build a Tamiya f104 (180mm) , for indoors, textured concrete, tight , bumpy track. Currently doing low 13 s laps with a silver can / black can.
Hoping I could get some advice on which version would suit me the best. I don't care if I have to buy all the bits separately , or hop up a kit. Input much appreciated , thanks

I was reading here yesterday about different Tamiya F1 cars.
I recently acquired a f104 chassis. I bought it as a back up for my fgx. However, number two car can become number one car at team owner's discretion.

Well there's one other thing that may pose a problem...ran into this with my F109. The rear pod has the axle mount lower in the F103 so you will likely have too much rear ride height. I made 2mm spacers for the rear pod on my F109 to get the ride height about right.

Beautiful job on your FGX with all the Exotek upgrades!! The FGX is my personal favorite of all the current F1 chassis available. It may not be the fastest, as the pan car based F104 V2 apparently is faster due to it's lightness and direct drive; but the FGX is THE most realistic of them all, especially now that they have the IFS front end too. Can't wait to see Exotek's upgrade for that!!

Don't have the car anymore so no pics...all I did was line up the lower pod on a piece of 2mm thick graphite and drill matching holes...then cut around the holes and I had spacers.
