I ordered an RM01 damper set for my F104W.
It stated that it was compatible with the 103 104 chassis, but after fitting i have found that it seems a little too long and flexes the rear motor area back a bit.
This makes the motor mount area tilted back too far and not inline with the main chassis.
Is there a different part which i need to make the length more correct for the chassis, or maybe even the friction plate to be shorter where the shock mounts?

In the main event video, at 47:40 into it, there is a glimpse of the F2012. Guess I'm not getting one unless it has a removable nose. And I'd prolly cut the piece shorter where it goes from the nose to front wing. Then it wouldn't be realistic.

Wished they released a 2011 body or wait until February 2013 for the new F1 cars to roll out (with rule changes to change the nose).
I'm with you. Sucks that F1 moves so fast. By the time MFG's come up with the "new" thing its already old!

If you are using it for a side damper, it would work (with F104X1 pod parts). As a center damper, it's way too long. It's possible you could eliminate the friction plate to make it work, I don't know for sure.

I'm thinking on using this: http://www.tqrcracing.com/shop/product_view.asp
On my Exotek F1R to replace the Associated roll damper that it comes with. Are these close enough in length to work properly? I really don't like the Associated shock as it comes apart way too easily.

How about the correct damper?
What part number would i be looking for and where could i find it.
Is the damper for the F103 the same length as what im looking for?

The only information we have is those pictures, and a big clue is the sign in front of the car saying "Formula 1 PROTOTYPE"

There isn't a part number as it isn't a production model yet. I guess whether it becomes a production kit will depend on what reaction it got at the hobby show.

The Australian National Championships were run last weekend at Logan in Queensland (15-19 November 2012). There was an F1 demo class with 20 entries which reflects the growing popularity of F1 in Australia.

Race report, lots of photos and breakdown of chassis used here

I currently have a f104 pro. I'm trying to decide if I should upgrade to the exotek f1r, or sell and get the f104pro v2. Thoughts? Reasons either way?
